Job summary

CNH Industrial is seeking a Software Virtualization Test Engineer in India to develop and maintain virtual testing environments and automation frameworks. The role requires strong embedded testing experience, proficiency in Python and CAPL, and familiarity with CAN/LIN protocols.

Responsibilities include creating test scripts, configuring SIL/HIL setups, and managing CI/CD pipelines. Collaboration with system and software teams is essential to drive test system improvements and efficiencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Embedded system testing.
• Excellent knowledge of Python with testing experience in embedded domain.
• Good knowledge of C and C# to understand application SW and develop test environment.
• Experience in developing Automation Test Framework and Automation test scripts using scripting languages (Python, CAPL etc.).
• Good Knowledge of CAN, LIN and other communication protocols.
• Experience in SIL, HIL & vehicle testing environments.
• Familiarity with SVN/Gitlab/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Define test cases from requirements and analyze system test cases for virtual/SIL environments.

• Design and develop an Automation test framework per strategy using Python or CAPL.
• Develop and maintain virtual/SIL test environments (C/C#) including Virtual ECUs and Plant Models.
• Execute tests, report results, and troubleshoot failures.
• Analyze issues from vehicle/field testing and reproduce in virtual setups.
• Manage test cases and reports in PLM tools like Polarion and Jira.
• Create and maintain CI/CT pipelines in Jenkins or Azure.
• Lead and coordinate testing activities with cross functional teams.

Job Title: Software Virtualization Test Engineer

Job Purpose

As a Software Virtualization Test Developer, you will support the design of timely, efficient and cost-effective software development through creating virtual test environment, plant models, Automation framework, automated test scripts and test execution to facilitate automated testing of application software.

Key Responsibilities

• Defined test cases from requirements and analyze system test cases for implementation in virtual/SIL environment
• Create robust test scripts for testing the feature under test: Unit level and at system level
• Design & development of Automation test framework as per the test automation strategy using Python or CAPL or other suitable technologies
• Develop & maintain virtual/SIL test environment (based on C and C#) including but not limited to Virtual ECUs’, ‘Plant Model’ & other tools as per the project requirements
• Test execution, reporting and troubleshooting of failed test cases
• Analyze the problems found during vehicle/field testing and create tests to reproduce the issue in the virtual environment
• Manage test cases and reports in PLM tools like Polarion, Jira, etc
• Create & maintain CI/CT pipelines in jenkins or Azure
• Manage & execution of all testing activities in the project independently
• Identify & implement process improvements to realize efficiencies and maximize reuse
• Work as one team with system and software engineering teams
• Drive the team to implement test system improvements
• Efficient communication skills with local and remote teams

Experience Required

• Must have minimum 5-8 years of experience in Embedded system testing
• Excellent knowledge of Python with testing experience in embedded domain
• Good knowledge of C and C# to understand application SW and develop test environment
• Experience in developing Automation Test Framework and Automation test scripts using scripting languages (Python, CAPL etc.)
• Good Knowledge and experience on CAN, LIN and other communication protocols
• Prior experience of embedded systems testing using SIL, HIL & vehicle
• Good knowledge & working experience with SVN/Gitlab/GitHub
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English language.
• Strong virtual team-oriented mentality (promote collaboration, synergies, collective decisions).
• Strong attitude in analyzing, designing and developing medium/high complex solutions.
• Strong analytical & reasoning approach for Problem solving.
• Knowledge of SAE J1939, ISO 11783 (ISOBUS) and SAE 14229 (UDS) Communication protocols is a plus
• Experience in developing Embedded Systems (C, C#, or Java).
• Experience in usage of AI in testing to increase efficiency
• Self-motivation to find solutions of various issues like developing tools to automate manual tasks and increase efficiency, etc
