Job summary

Interec It Global Executive Search in Hyderabad seeks a Custom Software Engineer to design, configure, and enhance SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll solutions using AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery and accuracy.

You will work with HR, payroll, and SAP engineering teams to implement EC/ECP configurations, validate payroll results, and ensure regulatory compliance in a global context. Experience with SAP ECP and a strong analytical mindset are required.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years of experience in SAP EC/ECP payroll configurations.
• Strong understanding of PCRs, schemas, wage types and retrocalculations.
• Experience with EC integration to Time Management, Benefits and FI/CO is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Configure and optimize SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
• Develop functional specs, testing scenarios, and payroll validation logic with AI aids.

Summary

AI Powered Tech Talent You will design, configure, and enhance SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) solutions while utilizing AI assisted development tools and copilots to accelerate requirement analysis, configuration, testing, documentation, and issue resolution. The role focuses on delivering accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll operations, integrating pre built AI services where beneficial, and improving delivery productivity—without requiring deep AI model engineering, RAG systems, or agentic AI development.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Functional & Technical Delivery

• Configure and optimize Employee Central Payroll including pay components, off cycle processes, gross to net calculations, retroactivity, schemas, and rules.
• Use AI copilots to rapidly generate functional specifications, configuration notes, testing scenarios, and payroll validation logic documentation.
• Support the full delivery cycle from requirements gathering and solution design to UAT, deployment, and post go live stabilization.
• Ensure seamless integration between Employee Central (EC), Time Management, HRIS Sync, BIB, and payroll relevant third party systems.
• Perform payroll simulations, validations, reconciliations, and error diagnostics with AI assisted accelerators.

AI Assisted Productivity

• Impact and configuration analysis

• Defect analysis and guided troubleshooting
• Documentation creation and updates
• Integrate pre built AI services into payroll operations (e.g., automated anomaly detection on payroll variances, automated summarization of payroll runs, intelligent categorization of payroll tickets).

Governance, Compliance & Collaboration

Ensure strict compliance with local and global payroll regulations, audit requirements, data privacy laws, and security standards.

Participate in workshops, payroll parallel runs, root cause analysis, and optimization discussions—enhanced with AI supported insights.

Collaborate closely with HR operations, finance, technical integration teams, and external providers.

Contribute to reusable payroll templates, configuration patterns, checklists, SOPs, and best practices incorporating AI assisted workflows.

Required Skills & Experience

SAP Payroll Expertise

• Strong hands on experience in Employee Central Payroll (ECP) and/or SAP HCM Payroll fundamentals including:
• PCRs, schemas, wage types
• Retrocalculations and payroll calendars
• Off cycle and special payroll runs
• Integration with EC, Time Off, Time Sheet, Benefits
• Understanding of payroll posting to finance (FI/CO) and payroll reconciliation practices.

AI Ready Skills

• Practical experience using AI copilots and LLM based tools for analysis, documentation, test generation, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to integrate pre built AI capabilities such as automated validations, anomaly detection, and summarization.
• Understanding of responsible AI usage and the limits of AI tools in regulated HR/payroll contexts.
