Clinical Assistant Responsibilities
Assess patients' vitals and history and document the same in proper order.
Take clinical rounds of patients, accompany the primary and referring consultants on their rounds, convey the orders to assigned staff and keep track on the same.
Channelize for discharge of patient once told fit for discharge by consultant.
Job Profile
Supervise the well-being of patients admitted in the ward.
Assist the consultants in the respective wards for the administrative and clinical duties pertaining to the patient care.
Examination and documentation of daily patients' rounds in each shift.
Proper handover to the next shift doctor.
Ensure high level of clinical and professional care.
Administer the medication as directed by the consultants.
Administer procedures as directed by the consultants, e.g., blood collection, intravenous access, Foley's catheterization, Ryle's tube insertion, change of dressing, removal of central lines, removal of hemodialysis catheter under supervision (uncomplicated procedure).
Administer notes in the Medical Records of the patients as directed by the consultants according to the Verbal Order Policy.
Ensure the completeness of the Medical Records prior to the discharge of the patients.
Explain the patient about the prescribed doses and its major side effects, if any.
Handle emergencies, if any, that are brought to the hospital or that occur in the Ward and refer to the Consultant In-charge.
Inform the consultant about the progress of the admitted patients.
Prescribe Narcotic Drugs (Patch only).
Explain consent forms to patient (all consents).
Explain the patient about treatment on discharge, proper follow-up advice & when to obtain urgent care.
Supervise the work of Physician Assistant, Nurses & Technicians.
