GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs extensive analysis on a variety of financial statements and provides supportable credit recommendations
- Effectively evaluates complex issues, considering and prioritizing a variety of factors while adequately mitigating risk
- Establishes appropriate credit limits and collateral requirements
- Communicates effectively and professionally with internal and external clients
- Exercises sound judgment in assessing potential regulatory and reputational risks
- Monitors merchant activity, communicating concerns to management
- An ability to formulate solutions for new opportunities or challenging financial distress scenarios
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (good written English is essential)
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office products, specifically Microsoft Excel
- An ability to prioritize competing tasks, work autonomously, and manage within established SLA’s / timelines.

About The Team: The U.S. Large Credit team works collaboratively with merchants, business development teams, relationship managers, transaction risk analysts, compliance and legal departments to support growth objectives while mitigating and managing risk. What You Will Be Doing:
The primary responsibility of the Credit Analyst is to review large credit risk exposure accounts with a focus on the merchant’s credit fundamentals. Analysis is performed to ensure adequate financial strength in relation to the potential exposure generated from the payment processing relationship. As a team member, you will perform thorough financial analysis on prospective merchants and collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate and manage risk to Global Payments.
- Obtain and reviews the financial statements of merchants
- Performs analysis of financial statements and providing an assessment of their credit profile and making supportable recommendations for exposure
- Detailed level of analysis to understand financial liquidity, leverage, and solvency metrics, and properly evaluate financial and operational trends
- Perform detailed research and analysis of business activity to accurately quantify credit risk exposures based upon the industry and product details for the specific business / merchant client
- Effectively evaluate complex business arrangements and structures; able to dive deep into the background, legal entities, products, and operations of the merchant / company
- Recommend and establish appropriate credit limits and collateral to minimize and manage risk
- Document detailed written analysis, findings, and recommendations as part of a formal credit analysis document and secure approval from management
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external clients
- Exercise sound judgment in assessing potential risks
- Monitors and communicates credit concerns to management
Minimum Skill Requirements:
- Skills and expertise needed to perform the job requirements listed above, at minimum:
- 2-4 years of experience analyzing and spreading financial statements, performing credit analysis and drafting credit memos
- Effective communication skills; attention to detail
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills
- Self-starter, able to work independently; possesses a strong sense of ownership
- Ability to creatively solve problems and achieve company objectives
- Time management skills with ability to multitask
Preferred Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of merchant acquiring services and the payment processing industry
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar formal credit training
