Job summary

Credit Saison India is seeking a seasoned Credit Manager to assess credit risk, approve or reject applications within delegated authority, and monitor portfolio performance. You will prepare regular reports on exposures, collections, and provisions, and collaborate with sales and operations to streamline processes.

Based in the Khammam region, you will mentor junior staff, ensure compliance with applicable credit regulations, and contribute to policy reviews and improvements in a fast-paced NBFC

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit management, preferably within the financial services sector.
• Proven track record of effective credit risk assessment and management.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make sound credit decisions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in credit analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
• Thorough understanding of relevant credit regulations and compliance standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Residency or strong familiarity with the Khammam region is a plus.

• Evaluate creditworthiness of new and existing customers by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data.
• Approve or reject credit applications within delegated authority limits, providing clear justifications for decisions.
• Monitor customer accounts for overdue payments and initiate appropriate collection actions.
• Negotiate repayment plans and settlements with customers when necessary.
• Develop and implement strategies to minimize credit risk and bad debt.
• Prepare regular reports on credit portfolio performance, including credit exposures, collections, and provisions.
• Collaborate with sales and operations teams to facilitate smooth credit processes.
• Ensure adherence to all internal credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Train and mentor junior credit staff, if applicable.
• Conduct periodic reviews of credit policies and recommend improvements.
