Job summary

The Association of People with Disability is recruiting for a full-time position focused on mental health services, counselling, and community outreach. The role involves performing need assessments for PWMI and caregivers, developing intervention plans, and delivering face-to-face counselling in project areas across Karnataka.

Candidates should have advanced degrees in psychology or psychiatric social work, 2–4 years of mental health experience, and be fluent in Kannada and English.

Qualifications

• MSc in Clinical psychology or MSc counselling psychology or M.Phil. in psychiatric social work.
• 2–4 years of experience in mental health.
• Kannada and English read/write/speak.
• Regular field visits across the project area.
• Travel during outreach and community engagement activities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure need assessment of PWMI and caregivers.
• Develop individualized intervention plans based on needs.
• Provide face-to-face counselling for PWMI and caregivers.
• Provide psychosocial education for PWMI and caregivers.
• Develop IEC materials and training modules.
• Ensure assessment and reassessment accuracy.
• Build field staff skills to perform their responsibilities.
• Enter data into software and maintain documentation.
• Capacity-building for stakeholders related to mental health.
• Prepare case studies and submit reports monthly.
• Build network with stakeholders and user partners.
• Carry out other duties as required by the Program Manager & Heads of CMHP.

• Setup counselling clinic in sub centre or PHCs level and APD office
  
• Explorefor new psychological intervention in CMHP program.
  

Requirements

• MSc in Clinical psychology/ MSc counsellingpsychology/ M.Phil. in psychiatric social work.
  
• 2 to 4 Years experience in mentalhealth.
