Job summary

Crisil is seeking a strong Core Java developer for our backend team in Chennai. You will design and implement high-performance services, focusing on memory efficiency, concurrency, and robust error handling.

Work involves RESTful and messaging-based inter-service communication, Linux-based deployments, and hands-on experience with ZMQ. Exposure to Python components and CI/CD is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong Core Java development experience (min Java 1.8, current Java 17/21).
• Solid understanding of OOP, collections, exceptions and multithreading.
• Experience with inter-service communication via REST, TCP and messaging.
• Experience with ZMQ and HTTP-based communication in Python or similar.

Job Description (JD) –

Must Have (Core Skills)

• Strong Core Java developer (minimum Java 1.8; current work in Java 17/21)
• Strong command of: o OOP concepts o Java Collections o Exception handling o Multithreading & concurrency (locks, executors, sync, thread pools) o Experience in inter‑service communication (REST, TCP, messaging)
• Experience with: o ZMQ for TCP-based communication o HTTP‑based communication in Python (or any other language) components
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Hands‑on experience with Caching, memory optimization and maintaining latest data in temp & process memory
• Experience in distributed messaging systems
• Comfort working in Linux environments

Good to Have

• Working knowledge of Python
• Experience with Job Scheduler
• Familiarity with ReactJS (only optional, front‑end exposure)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodology
• Exposure to low‑latency applications

Not Required

No requirement for Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate or ORM experience.
