Position: Coordinator, Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL)

Position Summary:

The Coordinator, Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL), is responsible for continuously strengthening and institutionalising teaching quality, faculty pedagogical competence, and curriculum design practices across all programmes at BSDU. The CTL supports the Universitys core educational mission by helping faculty design, deliver, assess, and continuously improve courses, curricula, and learning experiences.

At BSDU, this role anchors institutional initiatives in the Universitys broader educational framework of Outcome-Driven Competency-Based Education and Active and Experiential Learning, while strengthening the effectiveness of the Industry-Integrated Practice-Based education architecture and its three tiers: Practice-Rich Courses, Occupational Practice, and Internships. It contributes to aligning educational programmes with the Universitys broader goals of innovation, entrepreneurship, employability, and professional excellence among students.

BSDUs educational framework is aligned with NEP 2020 and related policy directions such as NHEQF, NCrF, NSQF, apprenticeship-embedded degree provisions, and the integration of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and value education, while also being thoughtfully informed by selected principles adapted from the Swiss dual education system. Within this framework, the CTL helps strengthen industry connect and also supports faculty in designing and delivering short-term training programmes for industry professionals.

The CTL facilitates the planning and deployment of technology-enabled active learning, including LMS platforms, simulation tools, AI-enabled tools, and digital collaboration environments.

In addition, the CTL supports the development, implementation, and periodic revision of BSDUs academic governance instruments, including Ordinances, Regulations, Policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring that these remain aligned with BSDUs educational philosophy, pedagogically sound, institutionally coherent, operationally effective, and compatible with notifications and guidelines issued by the UGC and other relevant bodies.

Qualifications:
  • 1. PhD in Higher Education, Educational Technology, Engineering Education, Engineering, Management with a focus on L&D, or Design Education
  • 2. Formal training or demonstrated expertise in higher education pedagogy, instructional design, OBE/CBE, or educational technology
Experience:
  • 1. Minimum 10 years of experience in university-level teaching and/or industrial Learning & Development (L&D), including demonstrated leadership in curriculum or program design and faculty/trainer development.
  • 2. Demonstrated experience in developing Learning Resources, including digital content, instructional guides, course files, assessment rubrics, etc.
  • 3. Excellent research publications or professional contributions in the field of Engineering Education, Management Education, Vocational Education, Design Education, Industrial L&D.
  • 4. Experience in deploying technology-empowered active learning, including LMS platforms, simulation tools, AI tools, and digital collaboration environments.
  • 5. Experience in aligning teaching to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and professional excellence among students.
  • 6. Demonstrated experience working across multiple disciplines engineering, computing, management, hospitality, design.
  • 7. Experience in aligning educational curricula with industry standards and fostering connections between educational institutions and industry partners.
Key Competencies:
  • 1. Proven expertise in Educational Frameworks like OBE, CBE, UDL, and Visible Learning, Education Theories, Active and Experiential Learning, Design Thinking, and educational analytics
  • 2. Excellent understanding of NEP 2020, NCrF, NHEQF, NSQF, UGC guidelines, Occupational Standards, and Qualification Packs.
  • 3. Strong communication, academic writing, facilitation, mentoring, academic writing, critical thinking, innovation, and teamworking skills
  • 4. Familiarity with International practices and their adaptation in India's NEP 2020 context
  • 5. Deep awareness of changing landscape of workplace competencies and their implications for curriculum design and educational practices
