Job description

The Cook will be responsible for preparing hygienic, nutritious, and timely meals for patients, staff, or hospital cafeteria services as per hospital standards. Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare meals, snacks, tea, and basic food items as per hospital menu and instructions.
  • Follow hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards during all cooking activities.
  • Wash, cut, prepare, and cook ingredients safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure food is cooked properly, served fresh, and maintained at suitable temperature.
  • Follow dietary instructions for patient meals when provided by nursing or diet teams.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen area, cooking utensils, equipment, shelves, and storage spaces.
  • Handle raw materials, groceries, vegetables, and kitchen supplies carefully to avoid wastage.
  • Monitor stock of kitchen items and inform supervisors about shortages on time.
  • Ensure proper storage of food items, dry goods, and perishable materials.
  • Support serving, packing, and distribution of meals when required.
  • Follow safety practices while using gas, stove, knives, hot vessels, and kitchen equipment.
  • Avoid cross-contamination by maintaining proper food handling and cleaning practices.
  • Dispose kitchen waste properly and maintain a clean working environment.
