Job summary

Quest Global in Hyderabad, India seeks an experienced HMI engineer to design and implement HMI applications for turbine control retrofit projects. You will install software on Windows-based HMI computers and provide technical support to software engineers and customers.

The role requires 5+ years in instrumentation/electronics, strong expertise with Proficy iFix/Cimplicity/Historian, and experience in the Power or Oil & Gas sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Engineering in Instrumentation, Electronics & Telecommunication or equivalent, 5+ years experience.
• Strong background in HMI application software including Proficy iFix, Cimplicity, Historian based products.
• Experience in Power Industry or in Oil & Gas.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement HMI applications for turbine control retrofit projects.
• Install software on Windows based HMI computers.
• Provide technical support to software engineers and customers on HMI applications.
• Design, implement and support communication networks for HMI applications.
• Provide technical support over the phone and at customer locations.
• Support Marketing and Sales with feedback on HMI software, hardware and networking issues.
• Assist with development and improvement of processes and tools to reduce cycle time on HMI projects.
• Strong Windows-based application setup skills (XP/7/Windows Server).
• Troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking.
• Ability and willingness to travel as required.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Motivated team player and self-starter, results oriented.
• Basic understanding of turbine control applications.

• Design and implement HMI applications for turbine control retrofit projects using a variety of HMI applications software packages.
• Install software on Windows based HMI computers.
• Provide technical support to software engineer in meeting customer needs on HMI applications.
• Design, implement and support communication networks for HMI applications.
• Provide technical support to customers over the phone and at customer locations when required.
• Provide technical support and feedback to Marketing and Sales teams on HMI software, hardware and networking issues.
• Assist with the development and improvement of processes and tools to help reduce cycle time on HMI projects.
• Strong computer skills in setting up Windows based applications including Windows XP, 7, Windows Server a plus.
• Troubleshooting skills including hardware, software, and networking.
• Ability and willingness to travel when required.
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Motivated team player and self-starter, results oriented.
• Basic understanding of turbine control applications.

Desired Skills:
