Job summary

OSII seeks a Controller to lead the Accounts, Taxation and Payroll teams in shaping financial strategy and controls. The role requires CA with solid experience in engineering production environments, strong knowledge of US GAAP, and expertise in Tally, ERP and Hyperion.

Controller will design financial policies, manage cash flow, banking relations, and reporting to the Management Team. This position emphasizes strategic oversight and team development within a dynamic organization.

Qualifications

  • CA with 6–9 years of overall industry experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in engineering production company; familiarity with Tally 9.4.5, ERP & Hyperion.
  • Well conversant with US GAAP.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage the organization's fiscal function and performance.
  • Act as strategic partner in planning and budgeting for the organization.
  • Advise on long-range planning, new programs/strategies, and regulatory actions.
  • Provide timely financial analysis to the GM and the Board.
  • Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Maintain banking relationships and optimize cash flow.
  • Oversee costing, accounting, and treasury activities.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, company law and other regulations.
  • Drive continual improvement and staff development within the finance team.

Accounts Team, Taxation team & Payroll team
Position Summary

Controller position is responsible for the development of short- and long-term financial strategies in support of the company's strategic mission and goals.

The job holder is responsible for directing OSII’s overall financial policies. Controller oversees all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, company, land matters and treasury. Controller also designs and coordinates a wide variety of accounting and statistical data and reports. Controller ensures that financial systems and processes are adhered to and there is no misappropriation.

Controller develops, builds and maintains financial agreements and strategic alliances with public sector offices, and other partners, including banks. Controller is also responsible for providing policy guidance and recommendations on key financial issues for all OSII projects and operations to the Management Team.

Controller evaluates complex issues and proposes and implements alternatives based on OSII resources, priorities and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance.
  • Participate in the development of the organization's plans and programs as a strategic partner.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
  • Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the General Manager and the Board and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization.
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization and within the Board as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
  • Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline.
  • Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization; i.e., evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, and/or mergers and investments.
  • Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
  • Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism which includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
  • Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the organization may enter.
  • Evaluation of the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) of individuals.
  • Effective role in Costing and Accounting process.
  • Responsible for company law matters.
  • Effective role in Direct & Indirect Tax Compliances along with other applicable Laws and Regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Person Specifications
PROFILE

Controller who possesses a thorough knowledge of financial management practices and techniques. Controller should have a thorough knowledge of public and private finance, financial analysis, accounting, budgeting, debt management. Controller should also have knowledge of mortgage lending, commercial lending, and loan servicing, as well as loan pricing, secondary markets, and financing.
