Job summary

Jindal Power in Raigarh, India seeks an experienced DCS/Automation Engineer to operate, maintain and troubleshoot the Max DNA DCS system across BTG areas.

You will configure DCS/PLC, modify logic, monitor health, back up data, perform audits, interlocks, and optimization; mentor shift engineers and ensure safety and quality procedures.

• Knowledge of safety and quality procedures and MOC processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Max DNA DCS system in BTG areas.
• Configure DCS/PLC, modify logic, monitor health, and manage backups.
• Perform system audits, loop checks, interlock verification, and control optimization for Boiler and Turbine areas.
• Ensure reliability of BTG controls including BHEL make.
• Support Advanced Process Control, DCS redundancy, and performance projects.
• Prepare and review MOC documents; ensure site safety and quality compliance.
• Mentor shift engineers and technicians in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Stay updated with instrumentation standards and AI integration needs.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for smooth operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Max DNA DCS system covering BTG areas.
• Hands-on experience with DCS & PLC, including configuration, logic modification, system health monitoring, and backup management.
• Perform regular system audits, loop checks, interlock verification, and control optimization for Boiler and Turbine areas
• Ensure reliability and availability of BTG controls including Boiler and Turbine (BHEL make).
• Support implementation of Advanced Process Control, DCS redundancy enhancement, and performance improvement projects.
• Prepare and review logics, MOC (Management of Change) documents, and ensure compliance with site safety and quality procedures.
• Guide and mentor shift engineers and technicians in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Awareness with Latest instrumentation standards digitization, analytical tools and need of instrumentation like flexibilization, AGC, AI integration with the system.

Required Skills & Expertise:

• In-depth knowledge of Max DNA, Honeywell, GE Fanuc, SIEMENS and various PLC installed in BOP areas and associated hardware/software.
• Strong understanding of BTG process logic, interlocks, and control philosophy.
• Experience in system maintenance, loop tuning, and integration with third-party systems.
• Hands-on experience in configuration and diagnostics of I/O modules, controllers, and networks.
• Familiar with SOE, Historian, and Plant Performance systems integration.

Educational Qualification:

• B.E. / B.Tech in Instrumentation / Electronics / Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Preferred Background:

• Experience in 250 MW and above thermal power plants.
• Exposure to major OEMs: Max DNA, BHEL System, or equivalent systems.
