Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Contingent Engineer in Bangalore to build and maintain Python utilities, SQL data pipelines, and Power BI dashboards for engineering and manufacturing workflows. The role requires 1–3 years of relevant experience and involves collaborating with the internal engineering team to deliver data-driven solutions.

The candidate should be proficient in Python and SQL, with Databricks and Power BI experience. Knowledge of automotive or industrial processes is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in engineering data/BI.
• Strong Python scripting and SQL data manipulation.
• Experience building dashboards in Power BI.
• Familiarity with manufacturing or IE workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python utilities and Excel/VBA tools to support IE / manufacturing workflows (calculations, data preparation, user interfaces).
• Build and run SQL queries and data pipelines to extract, clean and join data from existing systems.
• Create and update Power BI dashboards and Excel reports for project KPIs and engineering / operations reviews.
• Work with the internal engineering team to understand requirements, iterate quickly and document the solutions delivered.

Practical Experience With

• Python (scripts, utilities, automation).
• SQL (selects, joins, filters, aggregations on medium-size datasets).
• Databricks
• Power BI (data model setup, standard visuals, DAX).
• Good understanding of automotive or industrial workflows (for example: standardized work, production lines, time or effort data).

Nice to Have (Optional)

• Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate or similar low-code tools.
• Prior exposure to manufacturing or IE teams (plant data, KPIs, time study,, etc.).
