Job summary

JoVE is seeking a Content Creator to write scripts for short science education videos for the K3-K5 line. The role focuses on turning science concepts into scripts, storyboards, and production briefs for vendors to execute.

You will create engaging visual content, review and refine scripts and storyboards, and collaborate with media professionals to deliver high-quality educational videos.

Qualifications

• Master's in Life Sciences required.
• 2-3 years of experience writing scripts for K-12 videos.
• Ability to picture how each line will look on screen and when visuals should carry explanations.

The Role

JoVE is seeking a Content Creator to write scripts for short science education videos in our K3-K5 content line. An ideal candidate writes with the finished video in mind and can turn a science concept into a script, storyboard and production brief that vendors can work from directly.

Responsibilities

• Follow our guidelines for script generation to produce scientifically accurate, educational, and engaging lessons.
• Create accompanying storyboards to visualize scientific concepts in an easy to understand manner for undergraduate students.
• Generate documents using our guidelines to provide instructions to media professionals such as voice talent, video editors, and animators.
• Review content (scripts, storyboards, and animation rough-cuts) and provide feedback based on your knowledge and expertise

Requirements

• A Master's in Life Sciences.

• 2-3 years of experience writing scripts for K12 videos.
• Ability to picture how each line will look on screen, and to know when a visual should carry the explanation instead of words.
• Eagerness to convey science using a creative approach.
• Enthusiasm to learn how to communicate scientific concepts visually.
• Strong written communication skills.
