About the role

As a Containerization Platform Expert, you will take end-to-end ownership of designing, building, and evolving our Azure-based container platform, serving as the primary technical authority for containerisation strategy and platform engineering practices. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to develop and industrialize solutions that meet the needs of our clients and support our business objectives.

Responsibilities

Platform Design & Strategy

• Define and maintain the container platform roadmap, including versioning strategy, upgrade cycles, and deprecation plans.
• Lead architecture decisions on networking, security, scalability, observability, and multi‑tenancy for container workloads.
• Evaluate and introduce new Azure‑native and CNCF ecosystem tooling relevant to platform evolution.
• Architect and own the end‑to‑end design of the Azure container platforms (AKS, ACR, Azure Container Apps) aligned with business and engineering goals.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation

• Manage the full lifecycle of Terraform modules: versioning, testing, documentation, deprecation, and consumer migration.
• Build and maintain GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure delivery, drift detection, and policy enforcement.
• Enforce code quality and security standards.
• Design, develop, and maintain Terraform modules for container platform components, following IaC best practices and internal standards.

Platform Lifecycle & Governance

• Own and manage the lifecycle of platform components: upgrades, patching, certificate rotation, and scaling operations.
• Define and document platform standards, runbooks, architecture decision records (ADRs), and onboarding guides.
• Establish and monitor SLOs/SLAs for the container platform, driving continuous reliability improvements.
• Implement cost optimisation strategies for Azure container workloads and associated infrastructure.

Customer Engagement & Transparency

• Act as a trusted technical advisor to internal and external customers adopting the container platform.
• Lead technical workshops, architecture reviews, and onboarding sessions for platform consumers.
• Produce clear and structured reports on platform health, roadmap progress, incidents, and capacity for stakeholder audiences.
• Proactively communicate risks, blockers, and changes through structured reporting and transparent status updates.

Qualifications

Background required

• Education: Computer Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure, with deep expertise in AKS, ACR, Azure Container Apps, and related networking and identity services.
• Experience managing carve‑out projects, including data migration and IT separation, especially in multinational corporations.
• Collaborating effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Knowledge about security, risk, and compliance, with an understanding of cost implications related to business criticality or continuity.
• Passion for customers and problem‑solving, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.

Nice to have

• Azure certifications: AZ‑305 (Solutions Architect Expert), AZ‑400 (DevOps Engineer Expert), or CKA/CKAD.
