Job summary

Child Rights and You (CRY) in Gurugram is seeking a STEM Education Specialist to lead inquiry-based pedagogy, plan curricula, and facilitate activity-based learning in schools and learning centres.

The role involves managing STEM labs, developing low-cost TLMs, assessing learner progress, and mentoring teachers to strengthen STEM practices while engaging parents and communities.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning and facilitating inquiry-based, activity-based STEM sessions.
• Experience in mentoring teachers and strengthening STEM teaching practices.
• Experience in developing STEM lesson plans and low-cost TLMs.
• Experience in documenting and reporting learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

• STEM education and inquiry-based pedagogy delivery in schools or NGOs.
• Facilitate activity-based and experiential learning sessions.
• Plan curricula and prepare lesson materials.
• Demonstrate science experiments and lab activities.
• Create low-cost TLMs using local resources.
• Monitor learning outcomes and track student progress.

Job description

Key responsibilities :

• STEM education and inquiry-based pedagogy
• Activity-based and experiential learning facilitation
• Curriculum planning and lesson preparation
• Science experimentation and demonstration
• Development of innovative Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs) using low-cost/local resources
• Student assessment, progress tracking, and learning outcome monitoring
• STEM lab management, inventory maintenance, and equipment handling
• Documentation, report writing, and record management
• Digital literacy and integration of educational technology
• Planning and organizing STEM sessions, science clubs, fairs, and exhibitions
• Community engagement and parent communication
• Mentoring and capacity building of school/support class teachers
• Child safeguarding and creation of child-friendly learning environments.

Desired Profile :

• Minimum 2 years of experience in teaching Science/STEM subjects in schools, learning centres, or NGO education programmes.
• Experience in planning and facilitating inquiry-based, activity-based, and experiential learning sessions.
• Experience in managing or supporting STEM labs, including maintenance of equipment and learning resources.
• Experience in developing STEM lesson plans and low-cost Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs).
• Experience in assessing student learning, identifying learning gaps, and providing academic support.
• Experience in mentoring teachers and strengthening STEM teaching practices in schools or learning centres.
• Experience in organizing Science Clubs, science exhibitions, STEM fairs, innovation challenges, or community science events.
• Experience in engaging with parents, school authorities, and community stakeholders to promote STEM education.
• Experience in maintaining programme documentation, inventories, student records, and preparing monthly/quarterly reports.
• Experience working with children from marginalized or underserved communities will be preferred.
• Experience in implementing child protection and safeguarding practices within educational settings will be an added advantage
