Job description

Position Title: Consultant- State Coordinator Tele Law
Location: Chandigarh
Reporting To: State Head
Job Purpose

The incumbent will be responsible for the effective implementation and coordination of the project in Chandigarh. The role will involve training and capacity building of VLEs and Nyaye Sahayaks, coordination with key stakeholders, field-level monitoring, achievement of project targets, management of Panel Advocates, and timely preparation of project reports.

Key Responsibilities
Training & Capacity Building
  • Conduct training and capacity-building activities for Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) and Nyaye Sahayaks.
  • Orient and support VLEs and Nyaye Sahayaks regarding project processes, guidelines, service delivery and operational requirements.
  • Identify training and capacity-building requirements and coordinate appropriate interventions.
Stakeholder Coordination
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders including State Legal Services Authority (SLSA), Panel Advocates, VLEs and Nyaye Sahayaks for effective implementation of the project.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders and resolve operational issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with concerned officials and field teams for smooth delivery of project activities.
Field Visits & Monitoring
  • Undertake regular field visits to monitor project implementation and service delivery.
  • Visit VLE/Nyaye Sahayak locations to assess performance, identify challenges and provide necessary support.
  • Monitor field-level activities and ensure adherence to project guidelines and processes.
  • Document field observations and follow up on corrective actions.
Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly project reports as per prescribed formats and timelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, training programmes, field visits, stakeholder meetings and target achievement.
  • Provide regular updates to the reporting manager on project progress, challenges and key developments.
Target Achievement
  • Work towards achievement of allocated project targets and KPIs.
  • Monitor performance against assigned targets and take appropriate measures to improve achievement.
  • Coordinate with VLEs, Nyaye Sahayaks and Panel Advocates to ensure timely delivery of project services.
Panel Advocate Management
  • Coordinate and manage Panel Advocates associated with the project.
  • Facilitate communication between Panel Advocates, SLSA, VLEs and Nyaye Sahayaks.
  • Monitor the participation and performance of Panel Advocates and elevate operational issues where required.
  • Maintain relevant records and reports relating to Panel Advocates and their engagement in project activities.
Project Coordination
  • Support the State/Project Head in the overall implementation and monitoring of the project.
  • Ensure timely execution of activities as per project guidelines, timelines and targets.
  • Identify operational challenges and provide suitable solutions in coordination with the concerned stakeholders.
  • Perform any other project-related responsibilities assigned by the reporting manager from time to time.
Educational Qualification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Law / Social Work / Management / Public Administration / Rural Development / Humanities or any relevant discipline from a recognized university.
  • LLB / relevant legal qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience
  • 2- 5 years of relevant experience in project coordination, legal services, government projects, social-sector projects, training/capacity building or field operations.
  • Experience of working with SLSA/DLSA, Panel Advocates, VLEs, government departments or similar stakeholders will be preferred.
