Job Summary:

The Consultant Radiologyshall be responsible for providing comprehensive Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology services by accurately interpreting diagnostic imaging studies and performing image-guided minimally invasive procedures. The role ensures timely reporting, clinical collaboration, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and supports the hospital's clinical growth through advanced radiology services.

• Interpret and report diagnostic imaging studies including X-Ray, Ultrasound, Doppler, CT Scan, and MRI with high clinical accuracy.
• Provide timely and comprehensive radiology reports in accordance with defined turnaround times.
• Correlate imaging findings with clinical history and recommend additional imaging where clinically indicated.
• Collaborate with consultants, surgeons, and emergency physicians for accurate diagnosis and patient management.
• Perform and supervise ultrasound-guided diagnostic procedures, including biopsies and aspirations.
• Support emergency, inpatient, outpatient, ICU, and OT imaging services as required.
• Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols, infection control practices, and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting through RIS/PACS/HIS systems.
• Participate in departmental quality initiatives, clinical audits, and continuous medical education activities.

Key Responsibilities – Interventional Radiology

• Perform a wide range of image-guided minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using Ultrasound, CT, and Fluoroscopy guidance.
• Independently perform procedures such as USG/CT-guided biopsies, FNAC, drainage catheter insertions, pigtail catheter placements, nephrostomy, vascular access procedures, dialysis catheter insertions, PICC line placements, and other image-guided interventions.
• Evaluate patients pre-procedure, obtain informed consent, and ensure appropriate clinical work-up prior to intervention.
• Monitor patients during and after procedures while ensuring patient safety and managing procedural complications.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including Surgery, Oncology, Nephrology, Critical Care, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, and Emergency Medicine.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, radiation safety guidelines, and infection control protocols.
• Maintain complete procedural documentation, imaging records, and clinical outcomes.
• Contribute to the development and expansion of Interventional Radiology services through evidence-based clinical practice and collaboration.

Qualifications:

• MBBS,MD/ DNB Radiodiagnosis &Fellowship in Interventional Radiology (FVIR/FIR or equivalent)
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Radiology/Radiography/Medical Imaging Technology from a recognized institution.
• Valid registration/certification as applicable under local regulations.
• 3 - 4 years of experience in X-ray, CT, and MRI imaging in a hospital or diagnostic center preferred.
