Job summary

Dr Lal PathLabs in Gurugram is seeking a Consultant Pathologist with 0-5 years of experience to lead diagnostic interpretation and report validation in the pathology lab. The role requires MBBS with MD or DNB Pathology and valid medical registration, with full-time on-site work.

The Consultant Pathologist – Gurgaon is responsible for providing expert pathology and laboratory diagnostic services, interpreting tissue and clinical specimens, validating diagnostic reports, supporting clinicians, and ensuring high standards of laboratory quality and patient safety.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Examine and interpret histopathology, cytology, hematology, and other pathology specimens.
• Review biopsy and surgical specimens for accurate diagnosis.
• Correlate pathology findings with clinical history, imaging, and laboratory results.
• Validate and authorize pathology reports.
• Provide timely and accurate diagnostic reports to treating physicians.
• Communicate critical and significant findings promptly to clinicians.
• Perform or supervise specialized pathology investigations.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and tumor-board discussions.
• Provide expert consultation on complex pathology cases.
• Supervise laboratory technicians and pathology personnel.
• Establish and monitor internal quality-control procedures.
• Participate in external quality-assurance and proficiency-testing programs.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory SOPs and accreditation requirements.
• Support validation and implementation of new diagnostic methods.Participate in laboratory audits and quality-improvement initiatives.
• Guide residents, junior doctors, and technical staff.
• Contribute to research, academic activities, and clinical case discussions.
• Stay updated with advances in diagnostic pathology.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional ethics.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Chief of Lab or Medical Director.
