Job summary

Indira Ivf Hospital in Nashik is seeking a Consultant Pathologist to interpret and report routine and specialized pathology investigations across histopathology, cytopathology, hematology, clinical pathology, and biochemistry. The role emphasizes quality, accuracy, and timely reporting.

You will review results, correlate with clinical history, participate in case discussions, and provide test-selection consultations.

Qualifications

• MD/DNB in Pathology from a recognized medical institution.
• Valid Medical Council / State Medical Council registration.
• 2-5 years post-qualification experience in pathology.

Job description

We are hiring for Consultant Pathologist for Nashik Location.

Role & responsibilities

• Interpret and report routine and specialized pathological investigations including:
  • Histopathology
  • Cytopathology
  • Hematology
  • Clinical Pathology
  • Biochemistry (as applicable)
• Review and validate laboratory test results ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Correlate clinical history with laboratory findings for definitive diagnosis
• Participate in clinico-pathological meetings and case discussions
• Provide consultation to clinicians on test selection and interpretation

Laboratory Management & Quality Control

• Ensure adherence to NABL / CAP / ISO quality standards (as applicable)
• Monitor internal and external quality assurance programs
• Supervise laboratory personnel including technicians and junior doctors
• Oversee laboratory operations, workflows, and turnaround times
• Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and validation of laboratory equipment

Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain accurate medical records and reports
• Ensure compliance with statutory, ethical, and regulatory requirements
• Support audits, inspections, and accreditation processes

Preferred candidate profile

• MD / DNB in Pathology from a recognized medical institution
• Valid Medical Council / State Medical Council registration
• 2 - 5 years of post-qualification experience
• Experience in hospital-based or standalone diagnostic laboratory setup preferred
• Strong diagnostic and analytical skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Knowledge of laboratory quality systems and accreditation norms
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• Leadership and team management abilities
• Proficiency with LIS (Laboratory Information Systems)
