Dr.Kamakshi Memorial Hospital is seeking a General Medicine consultant for part-time OPD duties in Chennai. The role involves patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and coordination with a multispecialty team in the evening hours (5:00 PM to 9:00 PM).

Qualifications include MBBS with MD/DNB in General Medicine and valid NMC/State Medical Council registration. Prior multispecialty hospital experience is an advantage; strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

• MBBS with MD/DNB in General Medicine and valid registration with NMC/State Medical Council.
• Experience in a multispecialty hospital is an added advantage.
• Strong clinical governance, patient safety and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct OPD consultations and evaluate patients with acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Diagnose and manage common medical and lifestyle-related disorders.
• Review laboratory investigations, imaging reports, and other diagnostic findings.
• Develop appropriate treatment plans and provide follow-up care.
• Identify patients requiring specialist referral or inpatient admission and coordinate accordingly.
• Manage medical emergencies within the scope of practice and escalate critical cases.
• Counsel patients and attendants regarding diagnosis, treatment, medication, and lifestyle modifications.
• Coordinate with specialists and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
• Participate in clinical discussions and quality initiatives as required.
