Job summary

Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE) is seeking a Piping Engineer with 8-12 years of experience for site-based assignments in Dahej, Gujarat. The role involves review and supervision of piping activities across EPC/PMC/Oil & Gas and Petrochemical projects.

Candidates should hold a Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering and be proficient with piping codes (ASME/ANSI/API) and related software. Strong communication and coordination skills are required to manage cross-functional teams and client

Qualifications

• Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 8–12 years of experience in EPC/PMC/Oil & Gas/Chemical/Petrochemical sectors.
• Knowledge of piping codes and industry standards is essential.

Responsibilities

• Review piping drawings, layouts, isometrics, and related docs.
• Supervise piping fabrication, erection, testing, and commissioning at site.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, QA/QC, and client teams for timely execution.
• Review material specs, MTOs, and vendor docs.
• Participate in design reviews and constructability assessments.
• Witness hydrotest, pneumatic test, and pre-commissioning activities.
• Prepare and maintain technical reports and progress updates.

Key Responsibilities

Position: Piping Engineer

Experience: 8 - 12 Years

Location: Dahej, Gujarat

Qualification: Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering

Industry: EPC / PMC / Oil & Gas / Chemical / Petrochemical

• Review piping engineering drawings, layouts, isometrics, GADs, and related documents.
• Monitor and supervise piping fabrication, erection, testing, and commissioning activities at site.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, QA/QC, and client teams for timely project execution.
• Review material specifications, MTOs, and vendor documents.
• Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and constructability assessments.
• Monitor project progress and report site issues, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Ensure quality control procedures are followed during fabrication and installation activities.
• Witness hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, flushing, and other pre-commissioning activities.
• Support resolution of technical queries and site engineering issues.
• Verify contractor work progress and ensure adherence to project schedules.
• Prepare and maintain technical reports, progress updates, and documentation.

Desired Skills

• Strong knowledge of piping engineering principles and industry standards.
• Experience in chemical, petrochemical, refinery, fertilizer, or oil & gas projects.
• Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, API, and other relevant piping codes and standards.
• Ability to review engineering deliverables and identify design inconsistencies.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and engineering software/tools.
