Job summary

Tata Consulting Engineers Limited in Dahej, Gujarat, seeks an experienced Instrumentation & Control Engineer to lead site installation, testing, and commissioning on industrial projects. You will review drawings, coordinate with contractors, and monitor instrument installations and safety compliance.

Ideal candidate has 8–12 years in instrumentation and control engineering, with Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation & Control and strong communication skills for field operations and reporting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE/BTech in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Experience in installation and commissioning of PLC, DCS, SCADA, field instruments and control valves.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, instrument hookup drawings, and wiring schematics.

Responsibilities

• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems at site.
• Review instrument datasheets, hook-up drawings, loop diagrams, cable schedules, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, vendors, and project teams for smooth project execution.
• Monitor installation of field instruments, control valves, analyzers, PLC, DCS, SCADA, junction boxes, and associated systems.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, project standards, and industry codes.
• Verify cable laying, termination, loop checking, calibration, and functional testing activities.
• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for instrumentation and control systems.
• Monitor contractor progress and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
• Coordinate inspections and testing activities with QA/QC teams.
• Troubleshoot site issues related to instrumentation installations and control systems.
• Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of inspection, testing, and commissioning records.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for project management.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and permit-to-work requirements during site activities.
