Job summary

Alfa Laval India is seeking a Head of Finance Shared Services India to lead the financial accounting, reporting, and audit functions. The role drives ERP transformation, process excellence, and governance across the India Shared Services Center (SSC) to support IFRS, Indian GAAP, and statutory compliance.

You will partner with the CFO India and global finance leadership to deliver high-quality financial processes.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant with 15-20 years of experience in leadership roles.
• Proficient in IFRS, India GAAP, and taxation laws.
• Hands-on experience with statutory audit and financial reporting.
• Experience leading a shared services organization is preferred.
• ERP implementation and process improvement experience.

Head - Finance Shared Services India

The role will cover finance processes for Alfa Laval India: General Accounting and audit, fixed assets, Accounts Payable, Concur expense audit, treasury.

Role Description:

The role reports directly to CFO India with dotted line to Global Head of Finance Shared Services. Works closely with central finance team on various aspects. As Head - Finance Shared Services India you will have following key responsibilities: Success in this role will be measured not only through service delivery excellence but also through demonstrable ownership, simplification, standardization, transformation and governance of finance processes. The person will lead implementation process of D365 ERP for finance functional areas.

1. Financial Accounting, Reporting and Audit
   • Deliver timely and accurate monthly reporting.
   • Ensure adherence to and improvement in monthly closing timelines.
   • Strengthen governance and internal controls over financial reporting processes such as manual journals, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reviews.
   • Ensure accurate books of account and compliance with IFRS, local GAAP and group policies.
   • Co-ordination for and timely closure of group audits and statutory audits with continuous improvement.
2. Procure-to-Pay Operations & Accounts Payable
   • Lead end-to-end Accounts Payable operations.
   • Drive implementation and user adoption of Medius tool.
   • Ensure full compliance in all processes including TDS, GST, IDPMS, MTT
   • Drive payment cycle effectiveness and working capital visibility.
3. Concur & Employee Expense Governance
   • Monitor compliance with travel and expense policies.
   • Drive zero tolerance.
   • Implement controls and exception reporting.
4. Treasury and cash management
   • Ensure optimum investment of funds as per treasury policy
   • Ensure close alignment with central treasury team
   • Track and project cash flow - ensure availability of funds as required
   • Be central point of contact for relationships with bankers and NBFCs.
   • Lead co-ordination with banks for aspects such as RBI approvals (where required), EDPMS, IDPMS, MTT transactions closure.
   • Update list of bank signatories on regular basis - keep signatory list current.
5. ERP Transformation Leadership
   • Act as Finance Process Owner for ERP implementation till go live and beyond.
   • Lead process harmonization and future-state finance design as per global template.
   • Drive process transformation required for new ERP
   • Drive user adoption and post-go-live stabilization.
6. Process Excellence, Automation & Digitization
   • Drive implementation of global initiatives such as tools, processes in India.
   • Drive simplification, standardization, transformation and governance.
   • Implement automation and digitization projects.
   • Minimize non-value-added activities and manual interventions.
   • Define, measure and ensure adherence to KPIs and SLAs including quality, timeliness, productivity, compliance, cost efficiency.
7. Internal Controls & Risk Management
   • Drive a strong control culture.
   • Strengthen preventive and detective finance controls.
   • Close all audit issues timely and implement sustainable actions to prevent recurrence.
   • Map end-to-end processes and ensure all risk areas are appropriately mitigated.
   • Ensure strict adherence to all applicable policies, processes and authority matrix
   • Ensure appropriate backup documents, approvals, audit trail is available, retained and accessible easily.
   • Eliminate person-dependence to retrieve records.
8. Stakeholder Management & Service Delivery
   • Partner with business finance teams and leadership.
   • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across all teams - global and local as well as external stakeholders such as auditors, banks, other service providers.
   • Manage stakeholder expectations through service-level agreements.
9. People Leadership & Capability Development
   • Build, coach and develop a high-performing finance shared services team.
   • Establish cross-training and succession plans.
   • Promote accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

To contribute effectively to our business, you will require these essential skills - Qualified Chartered Account 15-20 years of experience, at least 5 years in leadership role Proficient in accounting (IFRS, India GAAP) and strong process knowledge Working knowledge of India company law and taxation laws Hands-on experience with statutory audit and financial reporting Experience of leading shared service organization is recommended Preferred experience: ERP implementation, process improvement, working in a matrix MNC Personal attributes: Go-getter attitude, willingness and ability to challenge the status quo and improve ways of working Ruthless focus on integrity, controls and compliance Ability to collaborate and work in sync with multiple stakeholders Ability to form and assertively put forward a point of view.
