Job summary

Reliance Infrastructure in India is seeking a Civil Engineer with 6-8 years of refinery/petrochemical construction experience to supervise field execution, study plot plans, and coordinate with surveyors.

The role requires coordinating DPRs, conducting soil tests, supervising rebar, formwork, scaffolding, and ensuring adherence to drawings and safety standards. Diploma holders (14-16 years) may qualify, with education in civil engineering.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering as required.
• 6-8 years of civil engineering experience for degree holders.
• 14-16 years of civil engineering experience for diploma holders.
• Experience in refinery/petrochemical construction.
• Knowledge of plant/equipment layout, area development, concrete technology, scaffolding and formwork safety.
• Familiarity with surveying, levelling, underground layout and safety in excavation.
• Understanding of civil drawings symbols.

Responsibilities

• Study plot plan and lay out drawings and execute in field.
• Coordinate with surveyor to establish plot boundary, RL, and earthwork quantities.
• Send soil samples for OMC/MDD testing and conduct field compaction tests.
• Monitor resource mobilization and notify supervisors of any deficiencies.
• Verify DPRs and update project control with progress.
• Ensure day-to-day execution in line with standards and drawings.
• Check rebar bending in yard and certify BBS.
• Inspect formwork, embedding items, and ensure correct clear cover and spacing.
• Ensure safe scaffolding, staging, handrails, ladders where required.
• Approve RA sheets and ensure compaction, curing and finishing quality.
• Monitor curing, surface rendering and fireproofing materials.
• Confirm embedded items are in position and aligned before pouring concrete.
• Ensure quality testing of concreting and proper cube sampling.

Job description

Study the plot plan and lay out drawings and execution of the same in field.

Coordinate with surveyor to establish plot boundary, initial RL of the plot and quantum of cutting/filling work.

Sending of soil sample to laboratory for OMC and MDD testing and conduct regular field compaction test.

Check the compaction utilization of resources. Inform superiors in case of improper/less mobilization of P&M/resources by contractors. Filling layer and proper level of cutting / filling activity.

Verify contractors DPR and update report to Project control team.

Ensure day to day execution; study of Project standards, specifications, drawings

Checking the correctness of rebar bending in yard, certifying BBS

Check if rebar binding work and formwork are as per drg and clear cover, spacing, lap length, hooks are maintained.

Check proper scaffolding, staging, handrails, ladder fixing in case of work at height. Check RA sheets are filled up and signed off.

Check proper compaction of concreting, field quality testing of concreting and cube sampling.

Check surface rendering and finishing for concrete and fire proof surface.

Check all embedded items (Anchor Bolts, Insert Plates) are in position and aligned / welded prior to concrete pouring.

Check proper compaction of backfilling, curing.

Experience Requirement :

Degree in Civil Engineering with 6-8 years of experience

Diploma in Civil Engineering with 14-16 years of experience.

Experience in Refinery/ Petrochemical construction

Knowledge in general plant and equipment layout, area development layout, Concrete technology, Scaffolding, staging and formwork safety, basic surveying and levelling, u/g layout, safety precaution in excavation work, fireproofing materials and methodology, different symbols used in civil drawings.
