Job summary

Reliance Infrastructure requires a Civil Engineer with refinery/petrochemical construction experience to oversee field execution, study project drawings, and ensure compliance with standards and safety.

You will coordinate with surveyors, verify rebar bending, formwork, scaffolding and safety measures, and supervise concrete works and quality testing on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma in Civil Engineering with refinery/petrochemical construction exposure.
• Experience: Degree 6–8 years or Diploma 14–16 years in civil construction.
• Knowledge of surveying, levelling, u/g layout, safety procedures, and BBS.

Responsibilities

• Study project standards, drawings, and specifications; supervise day-to-day field execution.
• Coordinate with surveyors to establish plot boundaries and initial RL.
• Verify rebar bending and formwork as per drawings; certify BBS.
• Ensure proper scaffolding, staging, handrails and safety measures on height work.
• Monitor concreting, curing, testing, and field quality checks; verify embedded items.

Job description

Study the plot plan and lay out drawings and execution of the same in field.

Coordinate with surveyor to establish plot boundary, initial RL of the plot and quantum of cutting/filling work.

Sending of soil sample to laboratory for OMC and MDD testing and conduct regular field compaction test.

Check the compaction utilization of resources. Inform superiors in case of improper/less mobilization of P&M/resources by contractors. Filling layer and proper level of cutting / filling activity.

Verify contractors DPR and update report to Project control team.

Ensure day to day execution; study of Project standards, specifications, drawings

Checking the correctness of rebar bending in yard, certifying BBS

Check if rebar binding work and formwork are as per drg and clear cover, spacing, lap length, hooks are maintained.

Check proper scaffolding, staging, handrails, ladder fixing in case of work at height. Check RA sheets are filled up and signed off.

Check proper compaction of concreting, field quality testing of concreting and cube sampling.

Check surface rendering and finishing for concrete and fire proof surface.

Check all embedded items (Anchor Bolts, Insert Plates) are in position and aligned / welded prior to concrete pouring.

Check proper compaction of backfilling, curing.

Education Requirement :

Degree in Civil Engineering

Diploma in Civil Engineering

Experience Requirement :

Degree in Civil Engineering with 6-8 years of experience

Diploma in Civil Engineering with 14-16 years of experience.

Experience in Refinery/ Petrochemical construction

Knowledge in general plant and equipment layout, area development layout, Concrete technology, Scaffolding, staging and formwork safety, basic surveying and levelling, u/g layout, safety precaution in excavation work, fireproofing materials and methodology, different symbols used in civil drawings.
