Qualifications

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in structural steel connection design.
• Proficiency in IDEA StatiCa software for connection design and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of AISC specifications and US design practices.
• Ability to coordinate with US-based clients and overlap with US working hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural steel connections per AISC specs and project needs.
• Design bolted and welded connections including shear, moment, bracing, beam-to-column, splices and base plates.
• Interpret drawings, loading info, design criteria and project specs.
• Evaluate forces and check bolts, welds, plates, stiffeners for limit states.
• Prepare calculations, design reports and supporting documentation.
• Identify missing information and raise technical queries for clarification.
• Revise designs based on engineering comments and client feedback.
• Coordinate with project managers, structural engineers, steel detailers, checkers and fabrication teams.
• Perform self-checks and peer reviews, maintain revision histories and schedules.
• Contribute to standard connection details and calculation templates for improvement.

We are hiring Steel Connection Design Engineer with practical experience in structural steel connection design, particularly for projects governed by AISC standards in the US market.

Role & responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural steel connections in accordance with applicable AISC specifications and project requirements.
• Design bolted and welded connections, including shear connections, moment connections, bracing connections, beam-to-column connections, column splices, and base plates.
• Interpret structural drawings, connection details, loading information, design criteria, and project specifications.
• Evaluate connection forces and load paths; check bolts, welds, plates, stiffeners, and other components for applicable limit states.
• Prepare clear engineering calculations, design reports, and supporting documentation.
• Identify missing or conflicting information and raise technical queries when clarification is required.
• Revise designs in response to engineering comments, project changes, and client feedback.
• Coordinate with project managers, structural engineers, steel detailers, checkers, and fabrication teams to ensure practical design solutions.
• Perform self-checks and peer reviews, maintain design records and revision histories, and complete assigned packages within agreed schedules.
• Contribute to standard connection details, calculation templates, and continuous improvement initiatives.
