Role OverviewThe Risk & Compliance Officer (RCO) will be responsible for establishing, leading, and overseeing the enterprise-wide risk management, regulatory compliance, and governance framework for iServeUs Payment Aggregator businesses model.This is a leadership role, critical to ensuring compliance with RBI PA/PG Guidelines, PMLA, AML/CFT norms, NPCI rules, and data security regulations, while enabling business growth and innovation.
Regulatory Compliance & Governance Act as the principal compliance officer for RBI Payment Aggregator regulations and allied guidelines. Ensure continuous compliance with:RBI PA/PG GuidelinesPMLA, AML/CFT normsKYC / CKYCR requirementsNPCI, Card Networks (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay) regulationsIT Act, CERT-In, and data protection requirements Serve as the primary liaison with regulators, banks, auditors, partners, merchants and external agencies. Oversee regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance reporting. Ensure timely filing of returns, certifications, and regulatory disclosures.
Design and implement a comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework covering:Operational riskFraud riskCredit and settlement riskCybersecurity and technology riskThird-party/vendor risk Oversee merchant risk assessment, onboarding controls, and transaction monitoring. Define and monitor risk appetite, KRIs, and mitigation strategies aligned with PA operations. Lead fraud prevention, dispute management, chargeback monitoring, and settlement risk controls.
Establish and oversee AML/CFT, sanctions screening, and transaction monitoring programs. Ensure robust merchant due diligence, enhanced due diligence (EDD), and periodic reviews. Monitor suspicious transactions and ensure timely STR/CTR reporting to FIU-IND. Conduct regular training for internal teams on AML and compliance requirements.
Develop and maintain compliance policies, SOPs, and internal control frameworks. Ensure alignment between product design, technology, and regulatory expectations. Embed compliance by design into new products, platforms, and partnerships.
Advice the Board, CEO, and senior management on risk and compliance matters. Present periodic risk and compliance reports to the Board and relevant committees. Build and mentor a strong compliance and risk management team.
Education Chartered Accountant (CA) / MBA (Finance or Risk) / LLB / CS or equivalent professional qualification.Experience Minimum 8 years of experience as chief of risk, compliance, or regulatory roles within fintech industry:Payment Aggregators / Payment GatewayBanks / NBFCs / Fintech companies Direct hands-on experience with RBI PA regulations is mandatory. Prior experience interacting with RBI, NPCI, banks, partners, merchants and auditors is strongly preferred. Experience in scaling compliance frameworks for high-growth fintech businesses is a plus.
