Job summary

S&P Global, Inc. in Gurgaon, India, is seeking a Compensation Analyst to join the Global Total Rewards team, supporting broad-based compensation programs, reporting, and data administration.

The role works closely with Compensation Leads and Total Rewards colleagues to handle day-to-day compensation activities, surveys, benchmarking, and data validation, with opportunities to grow expertise in a structured, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in broad-based compensation, total rewards, HR, or rewards consulting.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including working with spreadsheets, data validation, lookups, and pivot tables.
  • High attention to detail, with strong standards for accuracy, confidentiality, and quality of documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the administration of broad-based compensation programs and processes by assisting senior team members with recurring deliverables and timelines.
  • Prepare and maintain standard reports, spreadsheets, and compensation data files to support ongoing program administration and analysis.
  • Assist with compensation survey participation, data collection, job matching support, and basic benchmarking activities under guidance from more senior team members.
  • Validate compensation data, job-related information, and employee records to help ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established policies.
  • Respond to routine compensation queries and elevate more complex matters as appropriate.
  • Contribute to process documentation and support continuous improvement of compensation workflows and reporting.

About the Role:

The Team:

In this role, you will be a key member of the Global Total Rewards team, providing year‑round support for broad-based compensation programs, processes, and initiatives in partnership with colleagues across regions.

You will work closely with Compensation Leads and Total Rewards colleagues to support day‑to‑day compensation activities, reporting, and data administration. This role is well suited for someone building foundational compensation knowledge in a structured, team‑oriented environment. The role reports to the Compensation Lead.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Support the administration of broad-based compensation programs and processes by assisting senior team members with recurring deliverables and timelines.
  • Prepare and maintain standard reports, spreadsheets, and compensation data files to support ongoing program administration and analysis.
  • Assist with compensation survey participation, data collection, job matching support, and basic benchmarking activities under guidance from more senior team members.
  • Validate compensation data, job‑related information, and employee records to help ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established policies.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in broad-based compensation, total rewards, HR, or rewards consulting.
  • Basic understanding of compensation principles, HR processes, and data analysis, with a willingness to build deeper expertise in total rewards.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including working with spreadsheets, data validation, lookups, and pivot tables.
  • High attention to detail, with strong standards for accuracy, confidentiality, and quality of documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines during peak compensation cycles, communicate clearly, and work collaboratively with a global team, demonstrating ownership and follow-through.
  • Role supports global stakeholders; occasional flexibility to join calls outside standard IST hours is expected, especially during annual cycles and key deliverables.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to compensation reviews, market data surveys, HR systems, or reporting tools would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrates discretion with confidential information, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn in a fast‑paced global environment.
