Job summary

SGX Graphics in Chennai, India is seeking a capable Retouching Artist to ensure color accuracy and print readiness of image assets. You will retouch, mask, and compose images, maintaining color integrity and alignment with layout requirements.

Responsibilities include color verification against references, adherence to CMYK workflows, and collaboration with creative teams to meet production timelines. Proficiency in Photoshop and InDesign a must; Mac OS experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Professional experience using Photoshop and general knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience of applying print standards to image content preferred
• Experience working in and maintaining a color managed environment preferred
• Understanding of file types used in print and in digital applications
• Practical experience applying principles of color theory
• Experience in masking techniques
• Creative experience in packaging environment preferred
• Proficient with current Mac OS
• Use of Adobe InDesign or equivalent design application preferred

• Evaluate images for proper contrast, neutrality and tones
• Verify color pf products using samples and reference files
• Consider print requirements
• Participate in spot-checking other’s work as part of ongoing quality program
• Utilization of image and project racking systems to assure on-time completion of tasks
• Organization and file management
• Communication to department leaders on status of assignments
• Take ownership and responsibility for image content at the project level, working with creative teams and relaying critical information
• Participate in process improvement efforts and various production meetings to foster a positive creative impact on the business
• Handling Remote Proofing in GMG
• Monitor the Color correction of products received from studios
• CMYK to Spot color separation with editable file
