Job summary

SGX Graphics in Chennai seeks a Color Retoucher to ensure pixel-perfect color, masking, and composites for packaging art. You will work with the creative team to maintain color accuracy from studio proofs through final files.

The role requires strong Photoshop skills, color management in a print-ready environment, and knowledge of CMYK and spot color workflows. This full-time position values attention to detail, timing, and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Photoshop and the Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience applying print standards to image content
• Experience in maintaining a color managed environment
• Understanding of file types used in print and digital
• Knowledge of color theory and masking techniques
• Packaging environment experience is a plus
• Proficient with current Mac OS and familiarity with InDesign or equivalent design tools

Responsibilities

• Retouch and mask images based on direction and artistic integrity
• Create composite images to match layout and ensure final color accuracy
• Verify color of products using samples and reference files
• Consider print requirements and prepare artwork accordingly
• Participate in quality checks and process improvement meetings
• Maintain organization and file management for all projects
• Communicate status of assignments to department leaders
• Take ownership of image content at the project level
• Monitor color correction in workflows and assist with proofing
• Assist with CMYK to spot color separations as needed

Essential Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Results

• Retouch and mask images based on direction and artistic integrity.
• Create composite images using best practices and techniques to match layout.
• Responsibility for final color of image content.
• Evaluate images for proper contrast, neutrality and tones. Inspect for image artifacts (banding, patterns, and potential moirés).
• Verify color pf products using samples and reference files.
• Consider print requirements
• Participating in spot-checking other’s work as part of ongoing quality program
• Utilization of image and project racking systems to assure on-time completion of tasks.
• Organization and file management
• Communication to department leaders on status of assignments
• Take ownership and responsibility for image content at the project level, working with creative teams and relaying critical information.
• Participate in process improvement efforts and various production meetings to foster a positive creative impact on the business.
• Handling Remote Proofing in GMG
• Monitor the Color correction of products received from studios
• CMYK to Spot color separation with editable file

Competency Requirements

• Professional experience using Photoshop and general knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite

• Experience working in and maintaining a color managed environment preferred
