Job summary

STATE STREET CORPORATION in Bengaluru is seeking a Collateral Management professional to minimize credit risk by exchanging cash or securities with counterparties. The role involves MTM-based calculations and sending margin calls, with training provided for a hybrid work setup from home and office.

Ideal candidates will have 1–2 years in finance or business services, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with OTC markets.

Qualifications

• Graduate and above preferably in Finance (B.COM/BBM/BBA).
• MBA (Finance), M.COM or degree related to Finance/Commerce.
• Certification on NCFM/CISI.

Responsibilities

• Complete all assigned tasks accurately and timely.
• Answer margin calls and queries from different departments.
• Reconcile collateral balances and resolve discrepancies; be main contact/escalations.
• Review and document process flows and contribute improvement ideas.
• Support onboarding of new processes/clients and department projects.
• Coordinate workload with manager and ensure timely responses.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a candidate with experience in Collateral Management to reduce credit risk by exchanging cash/securities with counterparties. Should have knowledge in calculations based on MTM and results in sending Margin calls. The position will contain a basic training to carry out activities by working both remotely from home and from office.

Why this role is important to us

Collateral management main focus is to reduce credit risk by exchanging eligible cash or securities between counterparties. The daily calculations are based on MTM of the underlying trades and results in sending Margin Calls, which in turn lead to agreeing transfers. Based on the agreements between our clients and the counterparties the Collateral team in India ensures that all the exposures are fully collateralized and the agreed collateral transactions settle as agreed.

What you will be responsible for

• Complete all assigned tasks accurately and in a timely manner
• Answer margin calls and queries from different departments
• Reconcile collateral balances, investigate and solve discrepancies; be the main point of contact/ escalations
• Review and document process flows/procedures and contribute in new improvement ideas to further streamline the operational process
• Get involved in departmental ad-hoc projects
• Ability to take ownership and initiative
• Preferred 1-2 years of experience in financial or business services
• Get involved in the training and development of other team members
• Prepare and review monthly internal and external statistics
• Support on-boarding of new processes, clients etc.
• Support manager; prepare and plan workload
• Reply timely and with professional manner to queries via different communication channels
• Coordinate escalations, make sure no queries and tasks as unanswered

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• MBA (Finance), M.COM or any degree related to Finance or Commerce

Additional requirements

• Certification on NCFM / CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment)
• Knowledge on Macros, SQL & MS Access Database queries
