Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and CPC-certified Coding Manager to lead and manage the medical coding team, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely coding of medical records. The Coding Manager will be responsible for team performance, quality assurance, productivity, training, audits, and adherence to applicable coding guidelines and healthcare regulations.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, medical terminology, anatomy, and coding compliance, along with proven experience managing a medical coding team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, supervise, and mentor a team of medical coders.
• Ensure accurate and timely coding of medical records according to established coding guidelines.
• Review and monitor coding accuracy, productivity, and quality performance.
• Ensure compliance with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, payer requirements, and organizational policies.
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans for coding errors.
• Provide ongoing training, coaching, and feedback to coding staff.
• Handle complex coding issues and provide appropriate coding guidance to team members.
• Stay updated on annual changes to coding guidelines, regulations, payer policies, and industry standards.
• Prepare and present coding performance reports to management.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of patient health information.

Required Qualifications

• CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification required.
• 5+ years of experience in medical coding, with at least 13 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Excellent understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical documentation.
• Experience with coding audits, quality assurance, and compliance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Strictly No HCC coding

Preferred Certifications

• AAPC CPC
• Additional specialty-specific coding certifications are an advantage.
