Job summary

Guidehouse India is seeking an experienced Coding Operations Manager to supervise the daily activities of the coding division across multiple locations in India. You will monitor workflow quality and volume, act as the primary representative for revenue cycle improvements, and ensure adherence to coding standards and regulatory requirements.

The role requires certifications (CPC, CCS-P, RHIA) and strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• CPC, CCS-P, RHIA or related certification required.
• Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, CPT-4 coding and billing standards.
• Proven supervisory experience and strong customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to prioritise tasks; solid computer skills including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily coding division operations and QA of workflow.
• Serve as primary Coding dept representative for revenue cycle initiatives.
• Communicate with Director to support performance KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with coding standards and regulations.
• Maintain knowledge of coding/billing requirements and regulatory changes.
• Develop coding and abstracting policies and practice standards.
• Oversee system-wide coding staff and adjust workloads.
• Provide education and training on coding and documentation practices.
• Perform annual staff performance evaluations.
• Abide by information security policy and report incidents.

What You Will Do

• Responsible for the daily operations of coding division including monitoring quality and quantity of workflow to ensure completion of work assignments
• Serves as primary Coding department representative for resolution and improvement of revenue cycle initiatives/issues
• Communicates with Director to support revenue cycle activities and key performance indicators
• Ensures compliance with coding standards and government regulations
• Maintains knowledge of coding and billing requirements and regulatory changes and acts as a resource to the coding and health information management staff
• Assists in the development of coding and abstracting policies and practice standards
• Oversees work assignments of system wide coding staff and adjusts work lists to accommodate volume and schedule changes
• Identifies need for educational sessions in collaboration with audit team
• Provides educational support and training of coding and documentation practices for all coding and clinical staff
• Performs annual performance evaluations on staff
• Shall understand and abide by the organizations’ information security policy and protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all information assets.
• Shall report incidents related to security of information to concerned authorities.

What You Will Need

• Minimum Experience: 7+ years.
• Basic Skill set: Certified Professional Coder Certificate (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist- Physician based Certificate (CCS-P), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or a related certificate required.
• Current knowledge of ICD-9 CM, ICD-10 CM and CPT-4 coding, billing, medical terminology, and compliance standards required,.
• Must have a proven record of good supervisory and excellent customer service skills.
• Demonstrates ability to clearly communicate verbally and in written form.
• Ability to prioritize and organize a variety of tasks to support departmental needs.
• Good computer skills required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

What Would Be Nice To Have

• Ability to work with data analytics tools for reporting including AI Proficiency in working EPIC domain Auditing Observation, Surgery records.
