Job summary

AECOM in Gujarat seeks an experienced Cluster Construction Manager to lead end-to-end construction of multiple utility-scale solar power projects, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality in line with approved designs.

You will manage EPC contractors, coordinate site activities from mobilization to handover, supervise design compliance, QA/QC, and implement HSE policies across the project cluster.

Qualifications

• Experience leading construction for solar power projects, preferably in utilities.
• Strong coordination with EPCs, vendors, and site teams.
• Proven ability to manage safety and quality across large sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction execution for multiple solar power plant projects within the cluster.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor site activities from mobilization through handover.
• Manage EPC contractors, subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and site teams.
• Drive site development, foundations, module mounting structures, cabling, and electrical works.
• Ensure alignment with drawings, specs, and project schedules.
• Monitor progress and develop recovery plans for delays.
• Coordinate with Engineering, QA, HSE, and Contracts teams.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly construction progress reports.

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Cluster Construction Manager to lead and manage construction activities across a cluster of utility-scale solar power projects in Gujarat. The role will be responsible for end-to-end construction execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with approved engineering designs and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead construction execution for multiple solar power plant projects within the assigned cluster.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor site activities from mobilization through project completion and handover.
• Manage EPC contractors, subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and site teams.
• Drive execution of major solar plant works including:
• Site development and grading
• Foundations and structures
• Module mounting structures and module installation
• DC/AC cabling
• Inverters and transformers
• HT/LT electrical works
• Switchyard and evacuation infrastructure
• Roads, drainage, fencing, buildings, and other civil works
• Ensure construction activities are aligned with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.
• Monitor project progress against milestones and develop recovery plans for delays.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, HSE, Contracts, and Commissioning teams.
• Review contractor manpower, equipment, material availability, productivity, and work fronts.
• Ensure effective resource planning across the project cluster.
• Identify construction risks, constraints, and critical path activities and take timely corrective action.
• Ensure compliance with project quality requirements and implement quality control measures.
• Lead site safety initiatives and ensure strict adherence to HSE policies and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, punch-point closure, and project handover.
• Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress reports.
• Coordinate with local authorities, land teams, utility agencies, and other stakeholders as required.
• Support commercial and contractual teams in identifying delays, variations, claims, and contractor performance issues.
• Ensure proper documentation, as-built records, test reports, and handover dossiers .
