Job Summary

The Cloud Specialist will play a pivotal role in managing and integrating data across multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency in reporting and analytics. This position focuses on developing and maintaining interactive Power BI dashboards and reports, leveraging advanced data modelling and automation techniques. The role requires close collaboration with business users, product managers, and data engineering teams to align reports with organisational goals. The Cloud Specialist will also drive process automation, optimise report performance, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will contribute to enhancing data literacy and user experience within the team, supporting data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various sources, including SQL Server, Excel, and BigQuery, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Play a key role in shaping data models by building relationships between fact and dimension tables and applying best practices in data modelling.
• Help drive innovation in data transformation activities using Power Query Editor, including merging, appending, and filtering data.
• Take ownership of integrating real-time data with cloud-based databases such as GCP and Azure.
• Deliver high-quality interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, including DAX functions for KPIs and customisation of report formats.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to gather and document business requirements, and present insights to stakeholders for data-driven decision-making.
• Lead efforts to optimise Power BI reports and dashboards by improving DAX queries, resolving performance issues, and implementing best practices in data visualisation.
• Develop automated solutions to reduce manual reporting efforts and implement Power Automate flows for workflow automation.
• Participate in internal process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and user experience.

Technical Skills

• Power BI (DAX, Power Query, Data Modelling) and SQL Server, with experience in BigQuery and MySQL.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as GCP and Azure for data integration and real-time reporting.
• Strong skills in data visualisation and business intelligence tools, including MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Power Automate for workflow automation and process automation.
• Ability to develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports, including the use of DAX functions and Power BI features such as Quick Insights, Bookmarks, and Drill-through.
• Skilled in optimising report performance, troubleshooting data discrepancies, and ensuring data consistency across multiple reports.
• Experience in collaborating with business users, product managers, and data engineering teams to align reporting with organisational goals.
• Familiarity with AI-powered analytics and forecasting capabilities within Power BI, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
