Job summary

CDK Global in Hyderabad/Pune is seeking a Cloud Operations Lead to guide the cloud systems engineering team, owning 24x7 operations across Azure and AWS, and driving automation, governance, and performance improvements for enterprise software platforms.

You will manage 10–15 engineers, define runbooks, metrics, and strategic cloud roadmaps, collaborating with Security, Product, and Vendors to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient cloud services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 8-10+ years of IT infrastructure or cloud operations experience.
• 1–3+ years of managing cloud operations or engineering teams.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Azure and AWS platforms.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL, cloud governance, architecture, and operational best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Cloud Gov, FinOps experience is a plus.

The Lead, Cloud Systems Engineering, is responsible for leading the cloud engineering and operations team, overseeing the design, implementation, and management of cloud infrastructure and services. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and operational management to ensure that the companys cloud environments are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with business objectives. The Manager collaborates with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners to drive cloud initiatives, optimize performance, and support the companys growth in the enterprise software industry.

Role Overview / Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Operations Manager to lead a team of 10–15 cloud operations engineers responsible for 24x7 operations across CDK’s Azure and AWS platforms. This role supports both CDK-developed infrastructure services and business-critical applications hosted in the public cloud. The position emphasizes operational excellence, automation, governance, FinOps, and operational oversight of container platforms such as AKS and Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

• Hire, onboard, train, and mentor a high-performing cloud operations team.
• Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development and compensation processes.
• Promote a collaborative culture focused on continuous learning and operational ownership.

Cloud Operations Management

• Own day-to-day and 24x7 operations for CDK Azure and AWS platforms.
• Ensure runbooks, SOPs, and operational documentation are created, maintained, and followed.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for complex operational incidents.
• Define, track, and report metrics that reflect operational health and service delivery quality.

Automation, Governance & Optimization

• Champion automation-first practices including Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Enforce cloud governance standards, security controls, and compliance requirements.
• Identify opportunities to standardize, optimize, and improve cloud processes.

Container & Platform Oversight (Secondary)

• Provide operational oversight for containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS).
• Ensure stability, monitoring, and security of container platforms.

Strategic Planning & Collaboration

• Contribute to long-term cloud strategy and roadmap planning.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Security, Architecture, and cloud vendors.
• Escalate operational issues to Cloud Engineering and vendors as required.
