Job summary

Coforge is seeking a Cloud Native Application Engineer with 6-10 years of cloud-native development, Kubernetes on Azure, and CI/CD automation. The role is hybrid with work locations in Coimbatore/Bangalore and requires an immediate joiner.

Responsibilities include designing scalable microservices, IAM, Kubernetes platforms on Azure, event-driven systems with Kafka, and extensive use of GitOps with Terraform. Strong security and governance experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience designing distributed microservices architectures with high availability and performance.
• Strong knowledge of RBAC, OAuth2, OIDC, token lifecycle management, and Microsoft Entra ID integration.
• Hands-on production Kubernetes environments, AKS, service meshes, network policies, autoscaling, security.
• Experience with Kafka-based event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging.
• Deep Azure cloud architecture knowledge: networking, security, governance, cost optimization.
• Observability: monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting using modern tools.
• GitOps and IaC: Terraform, Flux, CI/CD automation, Canary/Blue‑Green deployments.
• Security and compliance best practices in cloud-native environments.
• Ability to lead architecture reviews and mentor teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and govern the overall cloud-native architecture, designing scalable, secure, and highly available distributed microservices solutions that align with business and technology objectives.
• Architect and implement enterprise-grade Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, including RBAC models, OAuth2, OIDC, token lifecycle management, and Microsoft Entra ID integrations.
• Design, deploy, and optimize production Kubernetes platforms on Azure, including AKS, service meshes, network policies, autoscaling, resilience, and platform security.
• Lead the architecture of event-driven and distributed systems using Kafka, ensuring reliable asynchronous communication, data consistency, fault tolerance, and high-performance message processing.
• Define enterprise Azure architecture standards covering networking, security, cloud governance, cost optimization, and cloud resource management for production environments.
• Establish strategies for distributed data management, database design, transaction handling, and consistency across microservices-based applications.
• Drive observability and reliability initiatives through monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting frameworks using tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
• Lead adoption of GitOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices using Terraform, Flux, and automated CI/CD pipelines, including deployment strategies such as Canary, Blue-Green, and rollback mechanisms.
• Conduct architecture reviews, provide technical governance, and mentor engineering teams on cloud-native design patterns, security best practices, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, DevOps, security, and platform teams to translate business requirements into robust, scalable, and production-ready cloud solutions.

Required Skills:

• System Architecture: Deep expertise in designing, scaling, and governing complex distributed microservices architectures with high availability, resilience, and performance.
• Enterprise Identity & Access Management (IAM): Strong knowledge of RBAC, OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), token lifecycle management, federated identity, and Microsoft Entra ID integration.
• Kubernetes & Platform Engineering: Extensive hands-on experience with production Kubernetes environments, including AKS, service meshes, network policies, autoscaling, workload security, and cluster operations.
• Distributed Data Systems: Strong understanding of database architecture, distributed transactions, consistency patterns, data replication, caching, and fault-tolerant system design.
• Event-Driven Architecture: Proven experience designing and implementing Kafka-based asynchronous messaging systems, including event-driven communication patterns, retry mechanisms, broker tuning, and secure service-to-service interactions.
• Microsoft Azure Architecture: Deep expertise in Azure cloud architecture, including networking, security, governance, AKS infrastructure, cloud cost optimization, and enterprise-scale deployments.
• Observability & Reliability Engineering: Experience implementing monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting solutions using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or equivalent observability platforms.
• GitOps & Infrastructure-as-Code: Strong expertise with Terraform, Flux, GitOps practices, CI/CD automation, deployment strategies (Canary, Blue / Green), and automated rollback mechanisms.
• Security & Compliance: Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, Zero Trust principles, secure architecture design, encryption, secrets management, and compliance requirements.
• Technical Leadership: Ability to lead architecture reviews, establish technical standards, mentor engineering teams, and drive adoption of cloud-native best practices across projects.

Good to Have:

• Experience with multi-region Azure deployments, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
• Familiarity with API gateways, service meshes, and advanced traffic management strategies.
• Exposure to cloud cost optimization, and Azure governance frameworks.
• Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, CKA, or Terraform Associate
