Job summary

Orica in Hyderabad is seeking a seasoned Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps Specialist to design, deliver and operate scalable cloud platforms on Google Cloud, with automation at the core. You will ensure security, reliability and performance while embedding checks directly into CI/CD pipelines.

Collaborating with data engineers, software engineers and business stakeholders, you will drive observability, automation and continuous improvement across global cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years IT experience in cloud/DevOps.
• Strong hands-on with Google Cloud Platform.
• Proficient in Terraform for IaC.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
• Scripting in Python and automation skills.
• Ability to embed automated quality checks in deployment.
• Agile/DevOps experience and stakeholder engagement.

About the role

At Orica, technology plays a critical role in enabling safe, efficient and data-driven outcomes across our global operations. Within our Data, Analytics & AI (DAI) function, we continue to strengthen our cloud platforms to support analytics, data and AI products used across the business.
Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps Specialist is responsible for designing, delivering and operating these platforms with a strong focus on automation and built-in quality. Rather than treating testing or quality as a separate activity, this role ensures automated checks, validations and controls are embedded directly into CI/CD pipelines before solutions reach production.
Working closely with data engineers, software engineers and business stakeholders, you will help ensure cloud environments meet Orica's standards for security, reliability and performance, and continue to evolve through continuous improvement.

What you will be doing

• Designing, building and managing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform
• Implementing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to automate provisioning and environment management
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, integrating automated checks and validations prior to deployment
• Developing automation scripts (primarily Python) to reduce manual effort and improve platform reliability
• Embedding quality, security and compliance controls into delivery pipelines (DevOps / DevSecOps practices)
• Monitoring platform performance and contributing to observability and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborating with data, analytics and engineering teams to support delivery of data and AI platforms

What you will bring

• 7-10+ years of IT experience, with strong hands-on experience in cloud and DevOps
• Practical experience with GCP
• Proven experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions)
• Strong scripting and automation capability (Python preferred)
• Experience embedding automated quality or validation controls into deployment pipelines
• Comfortable working in Agile / DevOps environments and engaging with cross-functional stakeholders
• Tertiary qualification in an IT-related discipline or equivalent experience
