Job summary

Ziathlon is hiring an Exercise Physiologist to own assessment, prescription, and monitoring across weight loss, diabetes, cardiac rehabilitation, and return-to-play for athletes and fitness clients.

This testing-led, data-driven role reports to the Medical Director and involves collaboration with nutrition, physiotherapy, and sports psychology to deliver integrated programs. A full-time position with probation and standard company benefits.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Exercise Physiology, OR M.Sc. in Sports Science with a recognized certification (ACSM-CEP, CSCS, or equivalent)
• Hands-on experience with VO2 max, lactate threshold, and HRV testing protocols and equipment
• Knowledge of cardiac rehabilitation exercise guidelines for the client base
• Strong assessment-to-prescription clinical reasoning; not a generic trainer role
• Comfortably working across a wide age range and conditions in one day
• Full-time, probationary entry as per Ziathlon policy
• Direct mentorship from the Medical Director
• Access to a multi-disciplinary clinical team (nutrition, physio, sport psychology)

Responsibilities

• Conduct exercise testing and functional assessments: VO2 max, lactate threshold, HRV, movement screening.
• Translate test data into individualized prescriptions across metabolic, cardiac rehab, and performance.
• Run periodic re-assessments to track progress and adjust prescriptions.
• Conduct form correction and corrective exercise programming for injured or returning athletes.
• Collaborate with Nutrition, Physiotherapy and Sports Psychology to keep programs aligned.
• Document assessments and prescriptions in Eka Care per clinical protocol.
• Flag cardiac or medical red flags from testing data to the Medical Director immediately.

Summary

Ziathlon is hiring an Exercise Physiologist to own assessment, prescription, and monitoring across the full client spectrum — weight loss, diabetes, cardiac rehabilitation, and athletic injury/return-to-play. This is a testing-led, data-driven role: every prescription originates from objective assessment, not assumption. Reports to the Medical Director.

Responsibilities

• Conduct exercise testing and functional assessments: VO2 max, lactate threshold, heart rate variability, movement/form screening, and other performance/health diagnostics as required by client track
  
• Translate test data into individualized exercise prescriptions across four populations: metabolic (weight loss/diabetes), cardiac rehab, and performance/return-to-injury athletes
  
• Run periodic re-assessments to track progress and adjust prescriptions
  
• Conduct form correction and corrective exercise programming for injured or returning athletes
  
• Collaborate with Performance/Metabolic Nutrition, Physiotherapy, and Sports Psychology to keep programs cross-functionally aligned
  
• Document all assessments and prescriptions in Eka Care per clinical protocol
  
• Flag any cardiac or medical red flags from testing data to the Medical Director immediately
  

Requirements

• M.Sc. in Exercise Physiology, OR M.Sc. in Sports Science with a recognized certification (ACSM-CEP, CSCS, or equivalent)
  
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with VO2 max, lactate threshold, and HRV testing protocols and equipment
  
• Working knowledge of cardiac rehabilitation exercise guidelines (non-negotiable given client base)
  
• Strong assessment-to-prescription clinical reasoning — this is not a generic trainer role
  
• Comfortable working across a wide population range in a single day (a 60-year-old diabetic client and a competitive athlete, same shift)
  
• Full-time, probationary entry (standard Ziathlon probation period applies before confirmation)
  
• Direct mentorship and clinical oversight from the Medical Director
  
• Access to a multi-disciplinary clinical team (nutrition, physiotherapy, sports psychology) rather than working in isolation
  
• Exposure to a high-volume, varied testing caseload — strong portfolio-building for performance/clinical career growth
