Clinical Director Child & Adolescent Psychiatry / Neurodevelopmental Services
Location: Bangalore
Salary: Approx. 3.5 lakh per month, commensurate with experience and expertise
A UK-established mental health and neurodevelopmental care service is expanding its clinical presence in Bangalore and is seeking an experienced and dynamic Clinical Director to lead the clinical operations and development of its growing multidisciplinary service.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a psychiatrist who combines strong clinical expertise with the ability to lead teams, establish high clinical standards, oversee governance, and contribute to the strategic development of a modern neurodevelopmental and mental health service.
The Clinical Director will play a key role in building and maintaining a high-quality, ethical, evidence-based clinical service aligned with international standards, while ensuring that care remains appropriate to the Indian clinical and cultural context.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Leadership & GovernanceProvide overall clinical leadership and direction to the Bangalore service.Establish, maintain, and continuously improve high standards of clinical care, patient safety, and professional practice.Develop and oversee clinical protocols, pathways, assessment processes, and treatment standards.Ensure clinical practice is evidence-based, ethical, patient-centred, and appropriately documented.Lead clinical governance activities, including clinical audits, case reviews, incident management, and quality improvement initiatives.Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures in collaboration with the wider organisation.Act as a senior clinical point of contact for complex clinical matters and provide guidance to the multidisciplinary team.
- Team Leadership & ManagementLead and support a multidisciplinary clinical team comprising psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and other allied professionals.Participate in recruitment, induction, clinical orientation, supervision, and ongoing professional development of clinical staff.Foster a collaborative, supportive, and high-performing clinical culture.Conduct or facilitate regular clinical meetings, case discussions, and multidisciplinary reviews.Identify training and development needs within the clinical team and support appropriate learning initiatives.Encourage effective communication and collaboration between clinical and operational teams.
- Clinical PracticeMaintain an appropriate level of direct clinical involvement alongside leadership responsibilities.Undertake specialist psychiatric assessments and provide diagnostic formulation and treatment recommendations where appropriate.Provide clinical oversight for complex cases involving ADHD, autism, neurodevelopmental conditions, and child and adolescent mental health.Support multidisciplinary assessment and treatment planning.Provide guidance to families and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management.Ensure appropriate referral pathways and continuity of care for patients requiring additional or specialist services.
- Service DevelopmentContribute to the strategic development and expansion of the Bangalore clinical service.Help establish the clinic as a centre of excellence for ADHD, autism, neurodevelopmental, and child and adolescent mental health services.Identify opportunities to improve clinical pathways, patient experience, service efficiency, and multidisciplinary collaboration.Work closely with senior management and the UK clinical team to ensure consistency with the organisation's clinical vision and standards.Contribute to the development of new clinical services, programmes, and professional partnerships.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a senior psychiatrist with strong clinical credibility, leadership ability, and a genuine interest in developing high-quality neurodevelopmental services.
- MD Psychiatry from a recognised institution.
- Valid medical registration as applicable in India.
- Significant post-qualification clinical experience in psychiatry.
- Demonstrable experience in child and adolescent psychiatry, ADHD, autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, or related services.
- Previous experience in a clinical leadership, supervisory, departmental, or management role will be highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement, and evidence-based psychiatric practice.
- Excellent clinical judgement and the ability to manage complex clinical situations.
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary and internationally aligned clinical model.
