Job Summary
The Clinical Sales role is responsible for driving Leica Biosystems Core Histopathology, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), and Digital Pathology growth through a strong combination of clinical application expertise and direct sales execution. The role will support customers across the assigned territory through technical consultation, product demonstrations, proof-of-principle activities, customer training, troubleshooting, and scientific engagement, while also carrying sales targets and contributing directly to opportunity creation, funnel progression, revenue conversion, and market share expansion. This position reports to the Regional Manager, West and is part of the Sales/Commercial organization located in Ahmedabad, India and will be fully remote to cover the West region.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical application expertise across Core Histopathology, IHC, Digital Pathology, IVD, and RUO portfolios through customer training, troubleshooting, technical consultation, workflow optimization, and scientific discussions with pathologists, laboratory professionals, researchers, and key opinion leaders.
- Drive pre-sales and post-sales customer engagement by planning and executing product demonstrations, workshops, scientific meetings, academic programs, exhibitions, customer education initiatives, and Proof of Principle activities including evaluations, sampling programs, and customer validations.
- Carry and deliver assigned sales targets by identifying, creating, qualifying, and converting opportunities through direct customer engagement, while supporting business objectives, revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer adoption.
- Build and maintain a robust sales funnel, ensure accurate CRM opportunity tracking, prepare monthly activity reports, and document customer interactions, application support activities, follow-up actions, and business outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, channel partners, regional and global application teams, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues, gather market and competitive intelligence, strengthen customer relationships, and support strategic business decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pathology, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in Histopathology, Immunohistochemistry, Pathology Applications, Clinical Diagnostics, Diagnostic Sales, or Technical Sales.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pathology workflows, antibody-based assays, immunohistochemistry, companion diagnostic applications, and related cancer diagnostics workflows.
- Proficiency in customer-facing application support, product demonstrations, technical troubleshooting, customer training, opportunity tracking, Microsoft Office applications, and CRM tools.
- Ability to travel 60-80% within the assigned territory and other geographies as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with pathology laboratories, cancer diagnostics, immunohistochemistry reagents, companion diagnostics, or primary antibodies.
- Prior experience in a customer-facing application specialist, product specialist, clinical sales specialist, technical sales, or diagnostic sales role.
- Exposure to distributor/channel partner management, territory development, market intelligence, and competitive analysis.
