Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced climate resilience consultant to work with regional teams on projects across public and private sectors. The role involves risk assessments, developing resilience frameworks, and translating complex concepts for end users.

You will engage with multiple stakeholders, develop planning models, and contribute to high-impact deliverables, with a hybrid work setup and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate or professional degree in Engineering/Science or related field; PhD preferred.
• 5–7+ years in climate change risk, vulnerability assessment, and adaptation planning.
• Experience in sectors like water, rail, aviation, ports and waterways, highways, social infrastructure or healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of climate models and ability to develop numerical and narrative climate projections.
• Familiarity with the TCFD reporting framework and guidelines.
• Exposure to climate due diligence and climate insurance concepts (preferred).
• Experience with developing climate adaptation measures and planning.
• Strong analytical and structured thinking; report writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with Regional Strategic Consulting teams to win, deliver and manage projects for public and private sector clients.
• Undertake climate change risk assessments and develop climate resilience strategies for clients across sectors.
• Develop and document project climate resilience or sustainability frameworks.
• Translate complex processes into non-technical, end-user language.
• Design and develop programmes for long-term planning and modelling materials for capacity building; provide quality control for deliverables.
• Identify new links and opportunities for outreach to increase impact of planning and modelling analysis.
• Drive projects forward with initiative and provide solutions to senior staff.
• Learn and broaden both technical and soft skills required from a consultant.

Your impact

• Working collaboratively with Regional Strategic Consulting teams to help win, deliver and manage projects for a broad range of public and private sector clients
• Undertaking climate change risk assessments and developing climate resilience strategies for clients in different market sectors.
• Developing and documenting project climate resilience or sustainability frameworks.
• Ability to translate complex processes and concepts in non-technical and end-user friendly language.
• Designing and developing programmes related to the application of long-term planning and modelling materials for capacity building and provide quality control for the deliverables.
• Proactively searching for and identifying new links and opportunities for outreach – both internal and external – to achieve greater impact of planning and modelling analysis.
• Assertiveness and willingness to take the initiative, e.g. driving projects forward proactively, making things happen, has a can do attitude and presents possible solutions to more senior staff.
• Willingness to learn to improve the spectrum of technical and softer skills required from a good consultant

Here’s what you’ll need

• A postgraduate or professional qualification in Bachelors / Masters’ degree majoring in Engineering / Science or a related field. PhD in Climate or related field is preferable
• More than 5-7 years of experience working in climate change risk/vulnerability assessment and adaptation planning, with the ability to provide advisory & delivery services.
• Have experience in one or more related sectors (e.g. water, rail, aviation, ports and waterways, highways and toll roads, social infrastructure, healthcare).
• Very familiar with climate models and possesses strong understanding of how to develop numerical and narrative-based climate projections
• Experience climate change impact studies in terrestrial and/or coastal environments
• Understanding and experience of TCFD reporting framework and guidelines
• Exposure to climate due diligence studies, and climate insurance products that can support client geographies, will be a preference
• Experience with developing climate adaptation measures and planning
• Strong analytical and structured thinking, exposure to team work as well as global stakeholder engagement.
• Strong research & analysis ability supplemented with excellent report writing capabilities.
• Effective communication including presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels professionally
