Job summary

Qualifications

The Senior Project Manager plans, monitors, and manages projects from initiation through completion, leading or coordinating project planning, resourcing, staffing, and supply and subcontract management for moderately complex projects within a broader and more diverse client base. This role defines the value proposition, work plan, resource needs, timeline, and budget for client-focused service delivery projects, and manages resources (capital and human capital) to achieve project objectives on time, within scope, and on budget. Responsibilities span planning, direction, prioritization, change management, and delivery of projects in a manner aligned with client expectations and business needs, with consistent application of project management methodology throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes

• Plan, monitor, and manage projects from initiation through completion; lead or coordinate project planning, resourcing, staffing, and supply and subcontract management.
• Provide project management support for moderately complex projects within a broader and more diverse client base.
• Work with client stakeholders to understand key business and process issues and identify where and how Unisys can help.
• Work with internal functional representatives to define project plans and scope based on client needs and expectations.
• Support all aspects of project execution, including requirements gathering, chartering, scope definition, project planning, change control, risk management, close-out, and reporting.
• Facilitate resource planning, cost estimation, budget development, and cost control.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams through meetings and progress measurement activities, bringing distinct projects to completion on time and within budget.
• Monitor performance and recommend schedule changes, cost adjustments, or resource additions.
• Ensure project results meet requirements for technical quality, reliability, schedule, and cost.
• Ensure consistent application of project management methodology, processes, tools, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify and make recommendations for process improvement.
• Apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues; apply a broad range of theories, concepts, principles, and methodologies to assignments involving complex features.
• May manage specific projects that have a distinct beginning and end.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) and 5-7 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience leading teams and managing projects of low to medium complexity.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a time-sensitive environment.
• Basic project requirements analysis skills.
• Working knowledge of project management practices, including resource planning, work planning, scheduling, cost tracking, risk and issue planning/mitigation, team management, and client status reporting.
