Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Engineer – Senior Design Coordinator with 3–5 years of experience in structural design, engineering coordination, and project execution support. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of structural engineering principles, design standards, and coordination between architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) teams.

The candidate will be responsible for reviewing structural drawings, coordinating design inputs, resolving design-related discrepancies, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards, and supporting the timely delivery of accurate and coordinated design drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and review structural design calculations for RCC and steel structures, as applicable.
• Assist in the analysis and design of foundations, beams, columns, slabs, retaining walls, and other structural elements.
• Ensure structural designs comply with relevant IS codes, applicable standards, and project specifications.
• Review structural drawings, design calculations, and technical documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with senior engineers and consultants to resolve structural design issues.

2. Design Coordination

• Coordinate with architectural, structural, MEP, and other project teams to ensure seamless design integration.
• Review architectural and MEP drawings to identify clashes, inconsistencies, and design conflicts with structural elements.
• Organize design coordination meetings and follow up on pending design inputs and deliverables.
• Maintain design issue logs, drawing registers, revision records, and coordination trackers.
• Ensure timely circulation of updated drawings and design information to all relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor design deliverables against project schedules and highlight delays or critical issues.

3. Drawing Review & Documentation

• Review structural drawings, general arrangement drawings, sections, and reinforcement details.
• Coordinate with CAD/BIM teams to ensure drawings reflect the latest approved design inputs.
• Check shop drawings and construction drawings for coordination and consistency with approved design documents.
• Track drawing revisions and ensure proper document control.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, design submissions, and other engineering documentation.

4. Site & Project Coordination

• Coordinate with site engineers and construction teams to resolve structural design-related queries.
• Review RFIs (Requests for Information) and assist in providing technical clarifications.
• Support site visits, inspections, and resolution of design discrepancies, whenever required.
• Identify potential design and constructability issues and recommend practical solutions.
• Ensure that design changes are communicated to all concerned teams in a timely manner.

5. Quality & Project Delivery

• Ensure design deliverables meet project requirements, quality standards, and agreed timelines.
• Follow established quality assurance and quality control procedures.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
• Proactively identify coordination risks and support timely issue resolution.

Required Qualifications

• B.Tech in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
• M.Tech in Structural Engineering will be preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in structural engineering and design coordination.
• Strong understanding of RCC and/or steel structural systems.
• Knowledge of relevant Indian Standards (IS codes), NBC, and applicable project-specific design standards.

Technical Skills

• Working knowledge of structural engineering software such as ETABS, STAAD.Pro, SAFE, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for reviewing and coordinating structural drawings.
• Familiarity with Revit Structure and BIM coordination workflows will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office for design documentation and reporting.
• Understanding of drawing revisions, design workflows, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent coordination and communication abilities.
• Good attention to detail and technical accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple design deliverables and priorities.
• Effective teamwork and stakeholder management.
