Job summary

F5 Global Talent is hiring an experienced Civil Estimator to support a U.S. construction company specializing in commercial sitework and underground utilities. You’ll review civil drawings and perform detailed quantity takeoffs for excavation, earthwork, grading, water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and related site‑development work.

This is a hands‑on estimating role — not civil design or CAD drafting. It is a full‑time, remote role for candidates based in India, requiring you to catch

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of construction estimating experience with significant sitework or underground‑utility exposure.
• Strong material quantity‑takeoff skills.
• Experience with excavation, trenching, backfill, grading and earthwork estimating.
• Experience with water, sanitary sewer, and stormwater systems.
• Ability to read civil construction drawings, profiles, sections, grading plans, and utility plans.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills for quantity calculations and estimating.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and systematic quantity checking.
• Ability to work independently and identify estimating problems without constant supervision.

Responsibilities

• Review site plans, grading plans, utility plans, profiles, sections, and construction details.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for commercial site‑development and civil‑infrastructure projects.
• Calculate excavation, trenching, backfill, and earthwork quantities, including cut‑and‑fill volumes.
• Quantify water systems including pipe, fittings, valves, and hydrants.
• Quantify sanitary sewer systems including piping, manholes, and related structures.
• Quantify stormwater systems including piping, inlets, catch basins, and detention or retention systems.
• Calculate trench dimensions, pipe lengths, bedding, and backfill quantities.
• Cross‑check quantities between plans, profiles, sections, and details to prevent omissions.
• Prepare organized Excel‑based quantity and estimating sheets.
• Identify scope gaps, conflicting dimensions, and missing information and raise them proactively.
• Grow from detailed takeoffs into complete project estimates covering materials, labor, and equipment.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Experience obtaining and comparing supplier or subcontractor pricing
• Experience developing labor and equipment costs in addition to material takeoffs
• Strong knowledge of utility trenching, bedding, pipe installation, and soil‑volume calculations
