Job summary

Jobitus, based in India, seeks a CAD engineer to develop 2D and 3D engineering drawings, blueprints and shop floor layouts for plant machinery. You will draft structural detailing and BOMs, update As-Built drawings, and maintain a digital design repository.

You will coordinate with production and QC to resolve design discrepancies and ensure compliance with BIS, IS Codes and ASME standards across heavy steel fabrication projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings, blueprints, and shop floor layouts using AutoCAD.
• Design layout plans for plant machinery, material handling systems, heavy structural steel fabrication, and sheds.
• Create accurate sectional views, elevations, and assembly drawings with precise dimensional tolerances (GD&T).
• Draft structural detailing drawings for columns, beams, trusses, and industrial piping layouts.
• Prepare manufacturing and fabrication drawings for heavy steel plant equipment and components.
• Update existing drawings based on As-Built site measurements and engineering change orders (ECNs).
• Generate comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM) and part lists corresponding to design blueprints.
• Maintain a well‑organized digital repository of all design files, revisions, and project documents.
• Coordinate cross‑functionally with production, quality control, and site execution teams to resolve design discrepancies.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industrial standards (e.g., BIS, IS Codes, ASME).
