Job summary

Gulf Asia Engineering And Projects is seeking a structure engineer with civil structural design knowledge to lead project work and deliver quality reports and drawings.

You will plan independent work, interpret codes and standards, and prepare method statements for site requirements while collaborating with engineers across disciplines to resolve complex issues. Prior experience in oil and gas is advantageous.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform structural calculations independently and lead projects to deliver high-quality reports and drawings.
• Prepare method statements and job analyses based on site requirements.
• Devise new approaches to structural problems and provide workable, budget-conscious solutions.
• Communicate with engineers across disciplines and offices to ensure alignment on designs.
• Read, interpret and review geotechnical reports and integrate findings into designs.
• Create drawings and sketches to incorporate into designer drawings.

Role & responsibilities

• Structure engineer with knowledge of civil structural design and engineering techniques.
• Experience in Oil and gas industry is an added advantage.
• Responsible to perform structural calculation independently, lead projects to deliver good quality reports and drawing.
• Responsible to plan conduct independent work requiring judgement in evaluation, selection, application and compliance to codes standard specifications and criteria.
• Prepare method statement and job analysis report based on site requirement.
• Devise New approach to structural engineering problems and arrive workable solution within budget hour and resource.
• Through professional communication skill, should be able to work with other engineers discipline sometimes across multiple office.
• Design knowledge on crane lifting and scaffolding is added advantage.
• sound knowledge and structural calculations software such as STAAD Pro.
• Skill to read operate and review 3D modelling tools like Navis works.
• Capable to read interpret geotechnical report.
• Drawing preparation skill with AutoCAD is an additional advantage.
• Arrive multiple design options with structural feasibilities, site constraint and compare its cost, schedule implications.
• Strong interpersonal leadership skill is essential for effective communication of complex issue across multiple officers and teams. Provide drawing for own designs produce sketches to incorporate in the drawing by designer.
• Handle, Draft, organise, store, and retrieve the required input and output of structural deliverables.
