Job Purpose:
The City Service Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of electric bus operations at the assigned depot. This includes fleet uptime, preventive and breakdown maintenance, charging infrastructure management, workforce supervision, vendor coordination, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The role is critical to ensure smooth daily operations, customer satisfaction, and fleet reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Depot Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the electric bus depot.
- Ensure timely availability of buses for daily schedules (uptime target 95%).
- Monitor and coordinate bus charging schedules, charging unit availability, and energy usage.
Fleet Maintenance & Availability
- Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance is carried out as per OEM schedule.
- Coordinate with service engineers and technicians for quick resolution of technical issues.
- Maintain health status dashboard of buses and critical aggregates (e.g., battery, motor, telematics).
Charging Infrastructure Oversight
- Supervise charging equipment functionality, maintenance, and vendor support.
- Report any anomalies or failures in the charging system to the respective teams for immediate resolution.
- Coordinate with utility providers for electricity availability and load issues
Staff & Contractor Management
- Supervise depot technicians, drivers, cleaning staff, and third-party service providers.
- Ensure proper duty rosters, attendance, and shift planning.
- Conduct daily briefings and weekly performance reviews
Inventory & Spare Management
- Maintain minimum stock of fast-moving and critical spares.
- Raise requisitions, track inward/outward material, and ensure usage documentation.
- Coordinate with Central Warehouse and Spare Planning team for replenishment.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, breakdown logs, and energy consumption.
- Ensure documentation for billing, reporting, audit, and MIS is updated and accurate.
- Comply with safety, statutory, and OEM guidelines at the depot
Customer & Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the depot-level SPOC for transport authorities, city clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Address complaints, suggestions, and ensure high levels of service performance
