Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a seasoned Chiller Commissioning Engineer to lead commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of large scale HVAC systems, with emphasis on York chillers. You will work onsite with clients, review drawings, and ensure performance and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field.
• 5–15 years of experience in HVAC commissioning, focused on chillers.
• Proven expertise with York chillers (Screw, Centrifugal, Magnetic bearing).
• Strong knowledge of HVAC control systems (BMS/PLCs) and energy efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning for York chillers at client sites (Screw, Centrifugal, Magnetic).
• Perform functional testing, performance validation, and optimization.
• Review engineering drawings, control schematics, and docs.
• Collaborate with design, installation and project teams for smooth handover.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and control issues during startup.
• Ensure safety standards and client requirements are met.
• Provide training to client personnel and junior engineers.
• Document procedures, test results and final reports.

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Chiller Commissioning Engineer with deep expertise in commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting large-scale HVAC systems, particularly York chillers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with screw, centrifugal, and magnetic bearing chillers, and a strong understanding of control systems, energy efficiency, and mechanical performance.

• Lead and execute commissioning activities for York chillers (Screw, Centrifugal, Magnetic) at client sites.
• Perform functional testing, performance validation, and system optimization.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, control schematics, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with design, installation, and project management teams to ensure seamless handover.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control issues during startup and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and client requirements.
• Provide technical training and guidance to client personnel and junior engineers.
• Document commissioning procedures, test results, and final reports.

What we look for?

• Diploma/bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field.
• 5–15 years of experience in HVAC commissioning, with a focus on chillers.
• Proven expertise in York chillers, especially Screw, Centrifugal, and Magnetic bearing types.
• Strong understanding of HVAC control systems (e.g., BMS, PLCs).
• Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and energy efficiency practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and client-facing abilities
